We shot "Enemy: Starfleet!" in June of 2008, "The Child" in October of 2008, and "Kitumba" in June of 2009. We are tentatively planning on shooting "Origins" in June of 2010 and "Mind-Sifter" in October of 2010. So there are plenty of episodes already in the hopper.

How much "Star Trek" time do you think elapses between each of our episodes?

Not sure about how much time, but just at it's near the end of the mission just before the refit.

What other TMP elements could there be in them, Klingons with ridges and stuff like that.

I think there are several months left still in the original five year mission. If we say, hypothetically, that there are only three months left in the original five year mission, and if the Enterprise has one exciting adventure per day, that's still ninety stories we have left to tell.

I see all kinds of things that could prevent us from producing dozens of new Phase II episodes--but running out of time in the five year mission in the Star Trek universe isn't likely to become the showstopper.

Would be cool perhaps to have a Kelvin Class ship make an appearance in one of them, was never said when they were retired anyway.

Yes, only if it's attacked and destroyed by the laid back Klingons.

Kirk: "You Klingon Bastards! Why did you destroy that Kelvin class ship?"

Klingon: "They left us no choice, the ship was ugly as Gre'thor!"

I always figured that varied from episode to episode. As far as I'm concerned, Phase II is still in the fourth year since there hasn't been a full season's compliment of stories. Months between episodes is too much. I think an average of a week or so, the time that used to elapse between showings back when the series was on the tube. :vulcan:

Well, if we squeeze TAS in there as the fourth season, then New Voyages/Phase II serves quite nicely as the fifth season.

And we still have plenty of room for more episodes. :D

Thank you, Rob. I'm going to headline it again at my website at that time. Not that you need the insignificant amount of additional traffic that will generate for you, but I'll still do it. 30 million downloads... wow.

That sounds about right. As long as there's still lots of time for more adventures in the final frontier... :bolian:

ok so ive just seen Part 1,

As ive previously said Andy Bray is my favourite actor on this whole series, his Chekov is brilliant.

The show has some fun with Peter Kirk (there is some good humour in this episode), and I liked Freeman as well, wasnt keen on the younger Vulcan (possibly Peter Kirks room mate) seems to take away from Spock, that he is no longer the only Vulcan on the Enterprise. (am I confusing Spock with T'Pol)

I like that im able to say that it is just as good without Walter Koenig & George Takei, as it is with them, well ok not as good as World Enough & Time, but nothing will be that good.

Completely agree (and he's cool in person too). I could see him doing an awesome job on an popular TV series out there.

Just finished part two, and I have to say very good. The P2 Crew are improving with every outing. My fav part of this one is the exchange between McCoy, Spock, and Kirk on the bridge about volunteering for the mission. Nailed perfectly.

I heard mention that the second half of the episode was on YouTube but I'm not seeing it--can someone post a link?

(And please--not a link to the MP4 sites--I need the link(s) to the YouTube account(s) where the final half of the episode is posted. (Hopefully temporary!) low bandwidth situation here. Thanks.)

Thanks. There were so many spoilers in the thread that I was really afraid to wade through the posts to find what I was looking for.

I rated the second half a "4". Several things seemed to be really off about the pacing in the second half, and it almost seemed as if the second half of the episode was written by a different person than the first (and I know that's not true!)

Another problem I had was the whole discusson about the nature of the worms. The technobabble (or in this case, the biobabble) exposition between Kirk and McCoy at the beginning of part 2 was perhaps the most jarring... not only was it very un-TOS-like, I'm still trying to understand how the cure worked and what exactly Denise Crosby's character did at the end of the episode.

Another thing I'm still trying to figure out is just what purpose Kargh served in this episode, beyond just sitting around sneering with his woman for the entire second half of the episode. I think it would have been very easy (and much tighter from a pacing standpoint) to have ditched the Klingons entirely after the part one teaser.

And finally, Bobby Quinn Rice: I think eventually he'll be a fine addition to the cast--scratch that; he IS a fine addition (and YAY! for finally having a gay crewmember!) but I think he's still "finding" the role, which is unfortunate considering what a pivotal role his character played in this episode. It's definitely not easy being the nephew of a legend (and serving with said legend on his starship!) and I look forward to more episodes featuring Ensign Kirk.

Gotta love Homophobia. U ever heard of IDIC???

As a gay male, I also have no desire to see Phase II become "Gay Trek." However, it was nice to finally see a real gay relationship in the Trek universe. Peter will take time to heal after the loss of his partner...I doubt he will be "hooking up" anytime soon.

That's a funny word. I guess the gay community had to invent "something" to fire back at those who don't accept their unnatural tendencies. By "unnatural" I mean "unnatural to me" as a heterosexual male.

Is that a pun? I-DIC? Now THAT is funny! :guffaw:
