One (of many) thing I really like about DS9 is the episode titles, which are generally much more original then thoise of the other star trek shows. A few favourites of mine:"Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges", "If Wishes were Horses", "Through the Looking Glass", "Doctor Bashir, I presume", "Who Mourns for Morn?", "Wrongs darker then death or night", "Treachery, Faith, and the great river", "Badda-bing, badda-bang" and "The changing face of evil" What titles are your favourites?
"Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" (I love Latin titles.) "The Forsaken" (There's just something hauntingly poetic about it.) "Sacrifice of Angels", "Tears of the Prophets", "Prodigal Daughter" (I like the spiritual themes of these titles. There's something longing, yet redemptive about them.)
For the Cause For the Uniform Blaze of Glory In the Pale Moonlight Favor the Bold Rocks and Shoals Treachery, Faith and the Great River Hippocratic Oath Business as Usual It's Only a Paper Moon Our Man Bashir The House of Quark Empok Nor In the Cards Statistical Probabilities His Way Prophet Motive
I liked the long titles already mentioned. They evoke a sense of TOS (not like the boring one-word titles churned out by the Voyager staff).
I tend to like titles that invoke some heavy imagery for me. Imagery which may or may not have anything whatever to do with what actually happens in the episode. So for me, the coolest titles are ones like these (not in any particular order): In the Pale Moonlight It's Only a Paper Moon In Purgatory's Shadow By Inferno's Light Sacrifice of Angels Treachery, Faith and the Great River The Changing Face of Evil Far Beyond the Stars Tacking Into the Wind Tears of the Prophets
In The Pale Moonlight, Far Beyond The Stars, The Visitor, and I have a real fondness for To The Death as one of the most dramatic titles. -- RR
"In the Cards" is a great title for one of my fav DS9 episodes. "Who Mourns for Morn?" has to be the best title, tho.
