I smoked pot recreationally at university, many moons ago. I haven't smoked it since, and I'm regretting doing it then. It might have contributed to my pretty crappy mental health, I dunno.

I think he's saying that taking it to the level that you do, a similarly simplistic uneducated look at it could reveal it to be nothing more than puerile narcissism.

    You are both wrong though.

Legality and right are not necessarily the same the thing. The problem here is, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Otherwise, you're right on.

If you're in this society, and you have the privilege of driving a car you agree to bound by the rules of the road...you do not have a "right" to drive or own a car. You can choose to flaunt the law but by no means do you have a "right" to smoke weed. I guess you don't really know what you're talking about.

And if I educated myself on marijuana it would be so much better than being muscular or in shape....

I had childhood bipolar disorder. I took prescription medication ever day----three times per day for a few years there----to alter my brain chemistry. Got sick of taking the things long ago, and I attribute my own difficulty in feeling any strong emotions to this day to that whole thing even though I've been off the meds for years.

Is it any wonder that drugs and alcohol have never held the slightest bit of interest for me? I like my mind the way it is.

I've never touched the stuff, and with the random government drug tests I'm subject to in the Army, I doubt I will try. Have nothing aganist you fine people though. Reefer isn't a terrible thing.

As it Stands, I will continue to enjoy black coffee and junk food.

You know, I've never smoked cigarettes nor have I ever ingested a drug outside of alcohol in my life, but I'm going to go ahead and quote the late, great Bill Hicks on this one:

Eh, I'm not a smoker. I don't particularly like the stuff or the way it makes me fell. Granted, I don't judge a person who does! (On the contrary, I have some very few friends who are successful and smoke quite regularly). Obviously, it should be legalized.

That part is a huge, huge caveat, but the whole thing is absolutely right, irregardless.

I don't know your age, but I assume you're pretty young. Is being the biggest stoner a source of pride? If so, why?

Oh, dear! I could claim an attempt at verisimilitude, but my unintentional malapropism has in fact revealed me to be, though perhaps endearing, nothing more than a truly flawed character, regardless. :D

I was a wake 'n' bake, all day/every day pothead for 20 years before I gave it up for Christ's sake (not "ferchrissake" but for the sake of Christ). In the end I had to smoke massive amounts of even the good stuff to get a buzz going. I may not have been "the biggest stoner" who posts here but I'm willing to bet I was in the top five.

Why are you even comparing the two? That's incredibly stupid. Nobody is saying that one is the equal of the other in terms of what benefits they yield, they are just simply pointing out that you are harping on about something you have no understanding of, yet you seem determined to impress your superiority upon the rest of us.

You are not superior just because you get your enjoyment out of life a different way, and we have no way of knowing that you don't simply use it as a crutch or a drug to support some kind of self confidence issue, but I wouldn't accuse you of that without even knowing you because i'm not as judgmental or small minded in this regard as you apparently are.

Oh, and I happen to be fit AND I like a smoke, I don't use either as a crutch.

I agree. I hate losing control of myself which is why I always suggest "all things in moderation". I refuse to allow myself to get addicted to any substance. I was a pretty, pretty heavy stoner two years ago, but I quit cold turkey when I moved because it didn't really make sense to do that in my new environ. The moment it stops becoming a choice is the moment I never touch it again.

    Unfortunately.

We would have had a great time together back in those days. The only trouble would have been remembering whose hit of the bong it was. [IMG]

I recently ran into an old friend. He's now a pot grower. It's tempting to get some from him - I tried it and it's very good - but not tempting enough. I'd go back to behavior maybe only one order of magnitude less than Dale's. I'll just leave it for special events now, like Allman Bros. concerts.

I hate it, I don't mind the feeling, although it is vastly overpriced IMO, but the thing I hate is getting cornered by some swaggering self satisfied wanker who thinks he's all that, and talks your ear off for half an hour about some absolute crap (usually about himself) thinking he is in some way being interesting.

It just makes me think, ugh, I was probably that fucking idiot last time I took it, no thanks!
