Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Today I got the final bill for the anesthesia for my cataract surgeries last year. Now, I had a birthday this month, so I'm 72, but a couple of line items on my bill said "for a patient of extreme age". I was a little confounded because, ok, I'm OLD, but EXTREMELY OLD? Well, it seems a little rude to spell it out like that anyway. I had quite a laugh with my kids and my doctor about that. It's my excuse for everything now!
Is that medical code talk for "more likely to die?" under anesthesia?

Been under it once, because no way they were digging four rather large teeth out of my mouth while I was conscious. It was so quick, I never knew what hit me.

Anesthesia scares the daylights out of me. I hope I weather it as well as you 🤞
I've had several procedures where they put me completely under--anesthesia was the best part! It's a *wonderful* nap. I found "light sedation," like when you get your wisdom teeth out, worse to deal with. You're woozy and confused, and kind of nauseated.

Being completely under is the best sleep you will ever have. It's kind of awesome. :bolian:

I've had several surgeries under general anesthesia. The thing I notice most is that there's no perception of the passage of time. When I wake up from anesthesia, it's as if I just went to sleep a moment ago.
Not sure if it's a relief or a horror, but prisoners receiving the death penalty effectively go out the same way. They simply don't reawaken.

I spent some time wondering where to put this, and I decided to put this here...

What would you have given to be in on this traffic stop...???

I love how formal the police reports are. They say it was "a stranger encounter on patrol," while the rest of us are thinking, "It a racoon with a FUCKING CRACK PIPE, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!"

I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law this evening with Mom and Wink and my niece, and her fiancée took the time to announce the time and place for the upcoming wedding, and, of all the places they chose to have their wedding and honeymoon, they chose my ex-girlfriend's parents B&B on Anderson Island.

Now, my ex and I have been broken up for thirty years, well before my niece was on the scene, and she is married with a couple of kids of her own and lives in the Midwest, so there's very little chance that I would run into her, but her parents still own the B&B, and there's a slight chance they might remember the last name of my brother and my niece, since it's so unique. I'm going to attend, but I'm going to keep as low a profile as possible, in case my ex is there helping run the B&B.

I was pushing my cart into the local grocery store this afternoon, and some guy stopped me and asked what my name is. I countered with, "why are you asking?" He said that he thought that we went to school together. I told him that was unlikely because I went to school in Illinois, not here, and I continued walking into the store. Later, my son said that the guy was probably trying to pick me up. I really doubt that. Is that really a pick up line?

Unfortunately yes it is... I have watched guys try that one with almost always a negative response
