The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - VOY Season 2

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favourite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

"Investigations." A stupid & unsatisfying culmination of serialized arc's whose setup was also terrible.

Initiations, the Kazon were never interesting and this episode makes it worse by trying to give them traditions and still failing to make it interesting, it's a pain to get through, maybe because Not-Nog is paired with Chakotay, the most boring Voyager character.

Elogium. Too Kes-centric without anything strong enough to counterbalance it. Kes was always a weaker character and her best moments are dependent on better characters or a less direct plot to prop them up. Plus the episode is a little creepy.

Threshold. Because of... warp 10 in a shuttlecraft? "He's dead... no he's not" trope?Alien salamander babies? Abandoning said salamander babies? Pick one.

Parturition is a terrible Neelix/Tom episode.

Innocence, much like Partruition are episodes I just forget even exist in the first place. It's like I know I've seen this but I just can't hold any memory of the finer details.

Taking out "TWISTED".

Interesting idea, but I thought the execution was boring.

"Non Sequitur" is such an uninteresting tangent of an episode. And the actual plot mechanics of how all this happened could not be more lazily phoned in.

"Cold Fire," because I've always felt the female Caretaker is underwhelming. The episode should have been a bigger event, although Kes telekinetically boiling Tuvok was an interesting scene.

I really like all the remaining ones.

Taking out "RESOLUTIONS".

Only because it doesn't really resolve anything, and this directly led to the ship being taken over by the Kazon.

(Between the almost 3 weeks in orbit trying to cure them, the 6 weeks later when they get the cure from Denara, and the the 6 weeks traveling back... that's almost 4 months of zero progress getting away from Kazon space and plenty of time for Seska and Culluh to get all their ducks in a row to trap them.)

Persistence was completely unexceptional, and Janeway's holodeck program is the worst of the ones on Voyager.

I'll always remember "Alliances" as the episode where I realized that Voyager, despite its unique situation, was going to be more like TNG than it had any business being. Janeway's smug little we-have-nothing-to-learn speech at the end of the episode thoroughly depressed me.

Also, can we really say she gave the idea of finding allies a fair trial? Inviting people she knew to be treacherous, like Seska and Culluh?

A surprisingly strong list remains, perhaps Voy season 2 is a bit underrated.

Tattoo is the weakest of the remaining. I think we were still in the short period of time in which Robert Beltran cared and put effort into it but I think X-Files did the Native American alien stuff better.

"Death Wish" There is something interesting about it, but I just can not invest in a story that asks us to believe a human would serve as a judge for matters of the Q.

"Tuvix" for recycling "The Fly" in a Starfleet uniform and for yet another transporter accident story. McCoy was right about it. The transporter should be banned.

Taking out "PROTOTYPE".

While Frakes directed this well, it's the weakest of what remains.
