Are 24th Century apartments just holosuites?

Well, arguably this would require a lot of power to run.... but with Geothermal, you can run it to ridiculous levels and never run out of energy in the first place.
Tapping into just 0.1% of Geothermal potential can power humanity for 2 million years... and Trek technology allows easy access to supecritical Geothermal (we have the technology to do it too, but it just requires a bit more effort vs say pointing a phaser from orbit and drilling a hole 10 to 12 km deep - or deeper).

Still, its been established that holodecks CAN actually replicate various matter (some of which people inside the holodecks interact with most notably).
In this instance, I don't see too much of a benefit of having a holographic environment for living quarters... it would be easier to just use transporters and replicators to make adjustments on the fly (which is pretty much what they can do anyway).

On the other hand, Lewis Zimmerman lived in what's essentially a holo lab which had all his stuff made of holograms.
So, we know its doable... I just don't necessarily think people would CHOOSE to do that when they can essentially redecorate the interior to their heart's content without worrying about finances.

Never say never. The technology seemed new in TNG’s time, at least for naval vessels. I could imagine them being ubiquitous after a time. These people have both fusion and antimatter cores by the thousands; they could power anything. Plus, the afore mentioned geothermal and Dyson spheres of solar panels if necessary.

24th century seems a bit early for such a thing. Maybe late 24th I suppose. I do think that house interiors would eventually become a mixture of real and holographic objects. Much of it might just come down to personal preference. We see and are told multiple times that plenty of people like "real" things.

Personally I wouldn't trust 24th century Federation holographic technology to run 24/7 in my home. Maybe Ferengi tech, Quark's holosuites seemed more reliable.
