That's just a recent one. It's happening all the time. Another one... why was it only Jack and Geordi la forges daughter who went to take on the Changelings?

Probably because they're connected to the main characters.

I seem to recall such connections in TOS a time or two.

Just par for thr course for me.

It's happening all the time. Nothing makes sense. Plot contrivances happen in all storytelling... i get that. Put this story has gone nowhere for nearly 6 hours. That's the running time time of the Godfather 1 and 2 nearly. And there's no character development whatsoever

I feel like I learned more about Geordi in this season than 4 seasons of TNG, and nothing in the films.

    I'll take it.

If that's pathetic, we'll, that's also been my experience in Trek fan circles.

Have to remind you that Crusher and Picard were trying to kill a sentient being by the way. And that whole Data Lore think was awful. Plot convienence. So bad

Picard who gave Riker a pat on the back for not saving a little girl? Or grumpy over saving a civilization, or at least of a portion of it?

I trust you're done watching this "awful" show?

What did you learn? That's he's an idiot? Nothing rang true because I don't know who he is anymore. He was always a modest fella in TNG. Now he's a pompous, smug git who thinks he knows how his daughter should live her life, and then we have a full swing to emotion, balling at Data/Lore/B4/Bebored. It's really not good

Sounds like a dad to me.

So, yes, I learned a lot. It resonated.

    Thank you for asking.

    1) Star Trek Prodigy takes place about 13 years prior to Picard S3.

    2) The Federation at that time has the ability to go long distances VERY fast (IE Travel time from the Alpha to Delta quadrant can be done in weeks, not years.)

The story wont fill in the gaps if it continues telling it in the same vein

The biggest why is why did Crusher not tell Picard about his son? It's crazy and wrong. If that's your starting point for a show you're in trouble. It should have been Riker and Troi's son or daughter in trouble, Picard's goddaughter or son. I love Star Trek, believe me, I do. I would tell my friends at 5 in the day during the summers because I had to go home.... and it was just to star trek. This isn't good Star Trek.

The combat scenes made next to no sense. Star Wars level shooting. But whatever.

Geordi/Data and Jack/Sydney the highlights. Geordi leaving Data plugged in & having Lore take over was predictable.

    Hope Tuvok is alive.

I fucking LOVE this season. There…I said it. Even as a “TOS first” kind of guy….this is just really good stuff. It’s currently the most consistently good season of Star Trek ever. Even the much-applauded SNW had stinkers like “Serene Squall” and forgettable blandness like “Lift Us Up” but so far PIC has been very good-to-excellent week after week, at least by my tastes.

Let’s start with the performances. Geordi’s moment with Datalore was brilliant by LeVar Burton. Welcome back to acting, friend. Crusher and Picard’s scenes were well performed and poignant. Jack Crusher’s stuff by Speleers has improved dramatically since episode 2. Even Vadic, who was infuriatingly over-the-top earlier was brilliant in this episode.

Was this as purely awesome as “Imposters?” No. Was it as tense and poignant as “No Win Scenario?” Close, but no. Was it as nostalgic and fun as “The Bounty?” No. But, it was well-balanced, well-paced and massively entertaining, again considering that this is primarily a bottle episode.

    Tuvok!

Love it. 9/10…given freely without shame.
