Mandalorian mating rituals. Two individuals make statements to each other laced with double entendres. They finish the conversation off with both stating "this is the way." Then they engage in vigorous coitus whilst still wearing helmets.

    This is the way.

I would like to hear them say something along the lines of "What happens within the confines of the marital bed chamber concerns only those confined within the marital bed chamber". It would make a nice real world statement as well.

I thought of that too, and figured it would be a crack-up if she was disowned because someone stumbled back in and she was still eating. Think any of the others tried to sneak a glimpse and see what she looked like? Hard to find mates in a culture where everyone wears a proverbial bag over their head. Speaking of which...

Was he actually called a foundling by a character who should know he's Paz's son? Or are we assuming because of the title of the episode?

"We must avoid explosives and blasters for the safety of the foundling."

"It will kill the foundling if attacked."

"You have done the highest honor of the Creed. Saving a foundling."

Yes, that would be a problem then, I guess all the kids are called foundlings, even the ones "found" immediately after being born.

Or the term has a double meaning, one that can mean "a young one who was found," as well as "the foundation of the next generation of Mandalorians."

Or the kid is Vizsla's "son" the same way Pedro Pascal is a baby Yoda's "dad".

Loved this episode SO much better than last weeks episode.

This one had everything I enjoy watching The Mandalorian series for.

I also like that the Bo Katan character seems to be understanding the 'Way of the Mandalore' more, and may be changing her mind slowly regarding old/original Mandalorian ways.

Loved that we get more backstory to Gorgu as well, and loved all then action.

They make a noise when they come back to give warning? The hunt leader has a little gong to tell them it's safe to come back?

Seriously though, it does rather highlight that some of these rules are probably being taken way more literally than was originally intended, which is not an unusual thing to happen with organised religion.

Indeed, perhaps in the beginning 'Mandalorians' were a monastic order of warrior monks not unlike the Jedi and not unlike how to covert lives now. But they didn't exist just to exist, they served and protected the people, and the creed was only meant to govern the lives of those that chose the way of the Mandalore. Maybe the original culture had many creeds governing various professions, all equally valued and respected, but as generations passed the balance of power shifts and suddenly the followers of Mandalore start dominating those they're supposed to protect, supressing, devaluing or flat wiping out the other creeds. Which is how we arrive at a society of warrior nobility ruling over a slave/peasant population who are doing all the actual work to keep the civilization going; not unlike the Spartans. Or perhaps for aptly: imagine if the Shoguns of the middle ages had permanently eradicated Shinto and Budism in Japan and instead replaced it with the Bushido code, and nothing else. If that's their history; no wonder Mandalorians can't go more than a generation without a massive civil war!

Why does Paz Visla have such a tiny head? It’s really distracting

He was born that way? I don't know if he can help that...

ETA: the performer is a stunt man and MMA fighter, Tait Fletcher. I think the bulk of his armor might be causing the odd look.

I actually remember reading this tweet back then. Thought it was really cool that Clone Wars got Starbuck to do voice over.

Over a decade later she's one of the leading figures in live action Star Wars. Nuts.

Well that's what happens when you annoy a Nightsister one too many times . . .
I remember at the time them making a big deal about how Filloni crafted the character specifically for Sackoff, but when the episode ('A Friend In Need') aired it was such a minor role that I just wrote it off as a bit of stunt-casting. Turns out the episodes Bo Katan was actually created for was the later Maul/Deathwatch arc. It just so happens that 'A Friend in Need' was already further down the pipeline when they were writing 'Eminence' et al. so they just neatly swapped her in place of one of the nameless Deathwatch goons. Which is why she really doesn't do anything much character wise, and never takes her helmet off (the art asset wasn't ready.)
