Was that Onomatopoeia? The ONE villain Arrow should have used; especially in the Kevin Smith directed episodes and they use him here?
It was an okay episode but I thought Sara got back together with Jordan and the end of the last season. I hope they don't stretch that out for too long.
Intergang just makes me think of Darkseid. If this is going to be its final season you might as well go out with a bang. Bring the final boss in.

I think it was one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. I perfect blend of family drama and Superman drama. I am already in love with Chrissy and Kyle as a couple and I also like the idea of showing two people who are divorced but doesn't turn into melodrama. My heart broke for Lois when we find out she is not going to have a kid. Clark to but especially Lois because she seemed to really want it the most. That weird alien baddie creature has me intrigued.

Okay, not bad so far. There's a sense of optimism that I hope they haven't just set up to tear down.

What was that Clark and Lois said about not thinking it was possible to conceive a child? Did Jonathan & Jordan need some kind of artificial intervention to be conceived? I thought that was a setup for something, but they just dropped it.

They mentioned last season that Lois got pregnant again after the boys were born but miscarried. I assumed Clark's belief was related to that, that there was some permanent damage afterward.

Also doesn’t need to taken literally. If my wife and, in our mid to late forties (about ten years ago), had been told she could be pregnant, our reaction would likely have been very similar, despite the fact we were both quite aware it wasn’t literally impossible. Ordinary reaction with no overthinking required.

The look on Kyle's face after Lana delivered the signed divorce papers strongly suggests the melodrama is just beginning.

A great start to the season, with good storylines on both the Superman, and Kent & Lang family drama, sides.
I didn't catch, who was the guy who got powers and was resurrected by Manheim at the end? Is the person with the spiral mask/face someone from the comics?
The whole fight with Superman and the guy who go powers was pretty cool.
It will be interesting to see what's going on with Lois, if it's something mundane or alien related. Would she be old enough for menopause?
Kyle and Chrissy hooking up was unexpected. I know she said it was going to be a one time thing, but I question if it will be, it seems like they rarely ever are.

It sure looks like Onomatopoeia who is a Green Arrow villain, created by Kevin Smith. He doesn’t speak but rather makes sound effects, which I assume what he was doing to confuse Superman.

Henry Miller, who was seen in the origin flashback episode in season 1 as the first villain Superman fought. He was based on the Atom Man/Heinrich Milch/Henry Miller, a kryptonite-powered Nazi villain who was Superman's deadliest foe in the 1940s radio series. The S&L version had no superpowers in his original appearance, which is kind of ironic, since Atom Man was just about the only villain in the Superman radio show who did have superpowers.

I figured it was that plus Lois is presumably in her '40s now. Not saying that's some insurmountable problem, but the two things together...

Thanks to Trek_God_1 for his detailed review. I am watching the first episode now and I have to say that I feel Michael Bishop to actually be an improvement. He has a nuance to his acting that I really like. He didn't have a lot to work with in this episode but even when given standard lines, he delivers them in a way that is unexpected. I know this could be the director's and editor's choice but I am willing to give the new guy a chance.

Another new promo poster. This one's pretty cool, with the red popping:

After six and a half years of seeing Hoechlin in the role, I'm still not used to Superman having stubble.

Yeah.. As much as I like him in the role, that's always been a bit off-putting to me too. But it's a minor quibble I can live with.

Yes. Women can start having perimenopausal symptoms in their 30s, though 40s is more common.

However, given the show we're talking about, I'm guessing it's something weird.

True, but it can also start as late as 50-55 (my wife was treated for breast cancer last year at 55 and, with her particular medical history, her team of doctors were reluctant to declare her to be fully menopausal).

Here's an Easter egg I only caught on my second viewing of the season premiere:

For any who don't know, George Bessolo was the real name of the great George Reeves, who played Clark/Superman for six classic seasons of the Adventures of Superman TV series in the 1950s. (Bessolo Boulevard has also been referenced in the comics, as well as on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.)

It’s going to take me awhile to get used to the new actor playing Johnathan. He didn’t quite click with me yet.

Surprised there wasn’t a joke about the new actor.
