They tried to genocide the changelings during the dominion war by infecting Odo with the disease.

That was section 31. Though starfleet certainly turned a blind eye to it.

You're right but I feel like Starfleet turns a blind eye to section 31 generally. And in this particular instance, he was infected while at starfleet headquarters / while serving starfleet, so it's my head canon that they either facilitated it or were down with it happening (I guess I'd rather think that than Starfleet is so incompetent they had no idea). Picard the series seems to be going for a critique of power and authority so I kind of feel like they're not going to leave Starfleet or the Federation innocent in regard to the changelings' grievances.

Section 31 has members on the inside, so it would be pretty easy to do/

When it suits their interest, which is how many black ops or intelligence operations can be treated. If successful, great and everyone goes on business as usual. If not caught, you're disavowed even though your actions might support your govermnent's goals.

That was much better than I expected. I encourage others to watch it.

As Star Trek fan whose long been annoyed by Star Wars' popularity overshadowing ST's, its giving me greater pleasure to see more excitement of Picard Season 3 then Mandolarian season 3.

I know they keep name dropping Janeway since the beginning of season 3. I also know the focus is on the TNG cast this final season with Seven as a tag along, but what are the odds that they will finally name drop the Voyager cast? Like a Captain Kim or Captain Chakotay? They are still in Starfleet, right? I know the odds are against us and the situation is grim…

Since most of the screeners that went out were episodes 1-6, I’m betting we’re going to start seeing some DS9 and VOY characters in episodes 7-10. Even if only as cameos.

Probably won't mention Chakotay, at least not in the present tense because of Prodigy. And no way Harry Kim has gotten a promotion.

I’m going to laugh if he appears as the C-in-C.
