This is the first mandalorian episode I think sucks.

    1) he spendsthe entire last episode trying to save IG11 and insists that he cant take any other droid, only to cave in when Pelle offered him R5?

    2) He is made to be a complete inept, clumsy imbecile this episode.

He's clumsy in a lot of episodes.

    He was in a hurry.

Yeah I noticed that last week. Seems like they're going to be a trio from here on out.
Din was bested and disarmed by Cyber-Smeagol. Bo Katan took the saber back from them, then used it to slay them. Seems like Elder Wand rules to me . . . from a certain point of view.

Side note: the blade still weighs a ton for Din. Bo Katan was swinging it with ease and grace.

    Not that inept though.

Sorry this one just doesn't sit right with me.

1st bad episode in 3 series isn't bad though. Long as the rest are good.

I wonder if she'll consider that to have won the right to wield the darksaber.

So she basically saved his life twice this episode. Interesting that she calls him Din, unlike everyone else who calls him "Mando" lol.

More subtext that just occurred to me: when Bo helped Din before, it was only out of a selfish desire to get the darksaber and attain power. What resulted was the saber slipping from her grasp and going to another, followed by all her plans falling apart.

This time, her aid was selfless. She didn't need to help Din. There was nothing to gain from it. She didn't even want the glowstick of destiny anymore, and what resulted was that the darksaber landed right into her possession . . . and she didn't even seem to think about keeping it. This is very deliberate thematic storytelling.

I was less than impressed with episode 2 after all the positive reviews. I wouldn't rank this one highly.
Almost expected Lord Nyax to show up.

Oh my god that was pretty. Out of 10, it was at least 10 over the previous episode, which was good, but somehow ended before I was floored. Now I am. This was sad, and just scary enough, and awesome. And we got to see Griveous' cousin on life support, too.

My only disappointment, I was thirsty to see Grogu taming the mythosaur at the very last scene, since the armorer mentioned it in the recap, especially given how half-season set up the Chekhov's gun last with Gucci's cousin.

I wonder if we might get a Mando and Bo Katan romance. I think they would make a great couple.

It's funny to see that comment, because I stumbled upon a Star Wars fan video response that said "this was the worst Star Wars content produced." Interesting, very interesting.
    Agreed.

Tiny and inconsequential detail; but the mention of R5-D4 being part of the rebellion made me wonder how that'll even work. Him getting off Tatooine and coming back seems unlikely (though I'd totally buy his luck being just that bad), so for now my head canon is that he was onboard the Tantive IV and was the first droid the jump in an escape pod and flee (because: coward), hence the line "There goes another one!"

ETA: Nothing much to say about it since we didn't get much, but it was interesting to finally get a little info on at least one of Bo Katan & Satine's parents. Sounds like their father was the leader and died in the civil war. Unclear which side he was on, or indeed what the other side of the conflict even was about (beyond the obvious dynastic disputes & power struggles.)
As for their mother; how much do we wanna bet that's who The Armorer is?

I'm just glad he's back. He's the best droid!

Oh, this is kinda old news in a sense as this was actually done for it's season 2 appearance, but given we're just now seeing it up close: the live action version of the Gauntlet Fighter has been scaled down to like 50% of it's animated incarnation's dimensions.

I'm honestly glad. That thing was WAY too big to really be considered a "fighter". Even now as it stands it's closer to an attack shuttle or gunship.

    cool stuff
    • Grogu "piloting" (albeit with tin-can droid's help) + getting Bo Katan to help
    • Bo Katan explaining Mandalorian culture/history to Mando
    • Mando already checking off the "bath"-quest.
    • Bo Katan saving Mando twice, but going after him into the water
    • duh, the mythosauros thing and her "change of heart" to team up (please not romantically) with Mando and their new Mandalorian cause.
    • Jetpacking :)
    • my "quote" of the episode is from Bo Katan to Grogu: "do you think your dad was the only Mandalorian", after she skillfully dispatched the cave-monsters in a badass way.

    not cool stuff
    • the robot spider trap
    • the robot spider blood drainer (Initially thought it would roast Mando in that thing above a fire to eat him)
    • why destroy the droid 11 or whatever legacy/powerful sacrifice, only do whatever I'll take this rusty droid instead.

I thought she was lying to make him sound more worth it.

It looks to be about the same size as Maul's modified Gauntlet from Rebels going by the window.

Each different size of Gauntlet has had other differences in their designs, so they could be considered variants.

And it's perfectly in character. Bo Katan has always had an ego, and shall we say a "cavalier" attitude to violence.
    That's my assumption, yeah.
