    I wonder:
given that characters are coming back from previous incarnations of Trek, Matalas hints that we should rewatch some TOS movies, and someone has been noted as saying that an actor returns who they never thought they would see again in Trek... could we get to see a very old Admiral Saavik helping out Picard? She's half-Vulcan and half-Romulan, so the 100+ years since STIV isn't an obstacle. Robin Curtis retired from acting long ago (she's a realtor in upstate NY), but she still attends comic cons.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but it appears that the title of the first episode is
    The Next Generation

Since people are putting episode titles under spoilers, I've editted mine:

I've read that episode 6 is titled 'Bounty'... After DSC's 'Anomaly' last year, this is the second time a title of ENT has been re-used... I don't really mind though, just an observation.

TrekCentral have the titles and synopsises for the first 4 episodes (not sure on the source)

    https://trekcentral.net/star-trek-picard-season-3-episode-titles-details/?amp=1

The 3rd episode is apparently called
    “Seventeen Seconds”
    and the synopsis is:
Picard grapples with an explosive, life-altering revelation, while the Titan and her crew try to outmaneuver a relentless Vadic in a lethal game of nautical cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Raffi and Worf uncover a nefarious plot from a vengeful enemy Starfleet has long since forgotten.
Last sentence is the most interesting.

You don't have to go for the magic 100 any more in the US.

Some shows have been syndicated at around the 65 episode mark. Especially as "short-form" seasons of bigger shows have become the norm.

Of five seasons of 13 a pop.

starfleet has since forgotten are the remnants of the Maquis. We know that this Season relates not only to past sins of the Enterprise crew but also of Starfleet and the Federation. We also know that Worf has been dealing with fallout from the Dominion War and this fallout would be central to the Season 3. Matalas has also said that events from DS9 and Voyager are relevant to Season 3. The one thing that all series have in common is the Maquis. I think Vadic is an ex-maquis colonist who is angry at the Federation for their negotiations with the cardassians and also for the Federations perceived abandonment of the Maquis and leaving them all to die at the hands of the Cardassians and the Dominion. This would also tie in with the notion of Vadic being a Khan like villain (given that Khan was pissed at Kirk for leaving him and his people on ceti alpha 5). I think Vadic is making an alliance of peoples who were wronged by the Federation in various ways.

I like your theory a lot. I think it ticks all the boxes of what we know. It also fits with what Matalas said about Vadic being sympathetic and having a deeper motive.

I also think it's all very weird. It's not clear to me if the "reused components" are supposed to be from Saavik's (very old) Titan or from Riker's Titan (with a totally different design and a different purpose as well). I don't know what their intention is with all those convoluted nonsense, except maybe they want either Riker (or Saavik, if she is in it) to pretend it is their old ship, while also having their cake by using Matalas' favourite design. It will be a small detail for the season, but I don't like it.

It may make more sense if the so-called "reused components" are some very trivial parts of the vessel and have nothing to do with propulsion, weapons, shields, computers, etc.

There is also the weird description of the Enterprise. The Ent-F apparently was commissioned in 2386, and is already about to be decommissioned after 15 years because "its systems were compromised" (but it is still in use anyway as of S3, so make up your mind whether it is compromised or not...) . Seems entirely pointless to not just use the Ent-E, which would be slightly more believable as a (semi) deliberate decommissioning. Seems they absolutely wanted to show the ST Online ship, even though they clearly have no intention to make it a hero vessel or even a regular guest for another show (as you would expect, given they would want to make a new one in quality fit for today's streaming shows).

None of this means the season won't be good, but the treatment of those vessels does leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth already.

I’m pretty sure we’re seeing its decommissioning in Season 3. Hence all the fireworks and such.

(HMS) Bounty is also the name given to the Bird of Prey captured by Kirk et al. Could indicate a mutiny happens this episode. I also have a theory that we'll see Robin Curtis' Saavik again, given her mention as the historic captain of the first Titan. Matalas has been saying it helps to rewatch some TOS movies.

The logs for Picard season 3 is really interesting clues to th characters storylines and the Trek Central article to thanks for posting
I think it would be intrguing to see the Maquis again and like Terry Matalas said the fallout from the Dominion war being addressed and Raffi being undercover and finding what's going on too. Also what Beverly Crusher has been up to and her call for help in the first episode.
    them here.

Thank you! I'll Probably be completely wrong. Maybe Vadic is a Ba'ku angry that the Ba'ku village is now overrun by tourists

If we are talking about the
    Maquis
, then it's quite a possibility that a certain character
from DS9 didn't actually die like we seen him on screen but somehow was beamed out or captured
    . His name being
    Michael Eddington
    . My theory of course...
