Sofia Boutella has said she would enjoy bringing Jaylah back for a fourth film. https://screenrant.com/star-trek-4-jaylah-return-sofia-boutella-addressed/ What would you like to see Jaylah do, if anything? * Pursue a relationship with Scotty? * Fill Chekov's role on the Enterprise-A crew? * Find those family members who did not die/other Tyrakheans? Less than? Or is it that you couldn't care less? (sorry, pet peeve of mine--just finished marking 50 essays full of writing errors and I haven't yet turned off "marking mode") As to the OP, I would certainly like to see the character again--was my favourite element of the third film.
I'd like to see her again, and as previously posted I think head of security - a Tasha Yar type role would suit her well. At this point though I can't see another movie getting made with this cast.
Jaylah was the voice of "other" in the film - she was the one who observed Human things as an outsider. After a few years of immersion into Federation/Starfleet life, how will she have changed?
She might wind up usurping Spock's place as the outsider, though. Being part of a species we know next to nothing about, after all.
Since she is one the of only two main characters not ported from the Prime Universe I can see only one way for her next participation: She can have Keenser's baby
With her fighting skills I can absolutely see her joining the Starfleet Marines. She'd be a great "boots on the ground" type.
Depends on the type of film they make. While her fighting skills suggests she’d be a great security chief - and be Tasha Yar or La'an - she seemed primed to take over for Scotty in engineering, considering her work with the Franklin. Having her in engineering would allow Scotty more time in the captain’s chair. If the film is set in the mirror universe, mirror Jaylah should be leading the resistance against the Terran Empire.
And their subsequent camaraderie. Between her, Keenser, and Scotty, engineering ought to be an interesting place.
