According to the Sunday Night Football social media account, no team that's played all five birds in a season (Cardinals, Ravens, Falcons, Seahawks, Eagles) has beaten them all. The Saints are 2-0 so far.

This might make you feel old. The Vikings waived Blake Proehl. He's Ricky Proehl's son.

    Wow.

I always remember Ricky from the NFC Championship against Tampa.

    Time flies.

I'm watching Brett Rypien as a back-up QB to Russel Wilson in Denver (with the latter's on-again-off-again injury benching), thinking "that name seems really familiar to me". Come to find out he's the nephew of Mark Rypien, who I remember watching as QB of the Redskins from '88 to '93!
And yes, I feel old thinking about stuff like this. [IMG]

Bears are on Monday Night Football. Who thought they would be an interesting team to have on primetime two straight games and three times in the first seven weeks? Is it because of the Chicago demographics?

Learned something new today. One of our local afternoon DJs has an older brother who is an NFL referee and he was saying on air that every Tuesday morning after the Monday night game, each referee has a DVD mailed to them where the television camera is focused solely on them.
It's a highlight real of all the calls they got right or calls they missed along with a breakdown of how they got the call right or wrong.
He said the first thing every referee does when they put the DVD in the player is check how long the highlights are.
If it's under a certain length, they know they had a good game. If it's over, they knew to expect a call from the head office about how to do better and brush up on their playcalling.

What are the favorite cliches of your coach? The hatted guy here in Santa Clara likes to say "the game's not too big for him" and "he's made of the right stuff."

Is there a stat that indicates when the receiver is responsible for the interception? Marquez Callaway would get one right now.

I'm sure he'll be a big boost to them this season, but if Trey Lance pans out, that offense with him, CMC and Deebo could be scary next year.

I was initially happy about the trade (And I still love that CMC is coming to the Bay) but now the 49ers won't be picking until the 6th round, unless they trade up. They need to fix the offensive line, even though they've been playing decently lately. Hopefully he's the lift the 49ers need, and they need to get healthy.

We’ll see if he can stay healthy for an entire season.

They have Washington and Miami’s third round picks in 2023.

Russell Wilson out with injury, Brett Rypien to start Sunday.

Carson Wentz to IR, will miss the Eagle game.

J.K. Dobbins to miss 4-6 weeks.

If Brett Rypien does well today, does that create a quarterback controversy, or does Hackett stick with Wilson?

They really have no choice but to stick with Wilson. Much like the Browns are stuck with Watson. Wasting $150 million isn’t an easy pill to swallow.
