She excelled at being awful but her character Winn got her just rewards. RIP

    TRULY a loss.

I love and revere her bringing to life Kai Winn. One of the great characters of Star Trek.

Outside Trek my favorite role of hers was Lillian Reynolds in 'Brainstorm'.
Not going into the film here, but in it when she is dying with heart attack, she is focused on attaching the recording device to herself. She wants to capture what is experienced when a person dies so others can know about the passage to the afterlife. She plays a scientist to the very end and past there.

R.I.P. to marvelous actress that brought many unique characters to life on the big screen. The calculating subtlety she portrayed as the Kai is among my favorites.

Though she played two truly diabolical characters, I heard that Ms. Fletcher herself was a wonderful person. She will be missed. :sigh:

I've been seeing various comments on YouTube saying Winn was a better villain than Khan. It got me wondering where I would Put Winn in the ranks of great Trek villains. I think I would put her pretty high up there. There were even times when I felt bad for her, like (I think) Strange Bedfellows when she was wondering why the Prophets never contacted her directly.

Khan in "Space Seed" was a great villain. In The Wrath Of... he was overdone and borrowed too much from Melville.

Winn managed to stay on the edge between "misunderstood" and "villain" for much longer, and it made her a more interesting character.

An utterly brilliant character brought to life by a very talented actress. It still amazes me that they got someone of her calibre to return so often to the role.

Ms Fletcher will be greatly missed.
