The Yeager and the Elkins are probably the worst examples of kitbashing parts that logically do not go together, or scale well. The Curry, Raging Queen and Centaur look more acceptable in that regard.
This season looks amazing. I hope we get news of a spin-off once it is over with Seven as Captain of the Titan.
Seven is the one giving the order to go to warp in the trailer, so it may be her ship, Riker and Picard are just along for the ride. Edit: Oh "will you do us the honour commander" Picard is asking her to say Engage I missed that
They're right there. Why it has both strips and TMP era phasers? Idk Man the youtube quality is shit.
The clicking sound when Bev is getting gunned up and wearing her retro TWOK jacket, could this be the aliens from Schisms? It sounded like them and the masked dudes could be those aliens?
Could this... ...be that? (and is that a SNW shuttle? ) Looks quite WoKesque XD Spacedock doors... ...haven't changed And the inside... ...seems roughly similar as well
Good trailer and I like the premise. As for the Titan? Thank God I don't watch Star Trek for the Starships. The front is okay. The back is fugly.
More like something that would've come out after the Enterprise-B. So 2295, 2300. But very-early-24th Century, not very-early-25th Century. Maybe Starfleet's going through a retro phase. They almost pull it off... it not for those ridiculously over-stacked impulse engines in the back. EDITED TO ADD: I like the new Space Dock. It's like a cross between the Space Dock from TSFS-TUC and the space station just passed the drydock from TMP.
As I said in my post, it depends on what kind of wear & tear the Titan was subjected to during her lifetime. If the Titan had many missions that put her through the wringer, then it's completely reasonable that she'd wear out much faster than a ship that didn't. Some admiral may have made an arbitrary decision to just have the Titan decommissioned & replaced rather than have her overhauled and refurbished. Another admiral may have done the opposite. Yep. Limited resources. The Federation has multiple worlds to help build starships, we don't. We currently can't build one starship, much less thousands of them. So yeah, our resources are limited.
Like the nuStargazer, why (seemingly) no strip on the top/front? The Shang II has TMP style nacelles and the Shang III's are Phase II style turned upside down.
The 25th century esthetic seems to be some classes that look super sleek and advanced and clunkier-looking workhorse designs like this version of the Titan. Prediction: The E-F will appear in the last moments of the last episode as Picard hands her over to her new CO, ie "the next generation".
Some nice ship-porn in there. I'm cautiously optimistic. We don't see much in there, but it looks really good so far.
Those are the stargazer nacelles. Might be a museum, look at the starfleet emblem on the dome, it’s movie era. There’s also a red statue of some person out front.
Just wildly speculating, but maybe this new threat is able to compromise Starfleet's newest ships while older designs aren't susceptible, so the plan is to bring a bunch of older ships out of retirement to fight them. Could be how we end up bringing a certain Enterprise out of a museum. That building that gets destroyed looks rather museum-y with the SNW shuttle out and what looks like a statue out front.
Fine, then the Stargazer nacelles were (more or less) the Phase II nacelles turned upside down. They get much skinnier at the rear.
