I think I already mentioned it before, but it just happened again so I'll share it again. When the washer becomes unbalanced and starts making banging sounds, my cat hides and becomes catatonic. Won't make a sound, you can poke him and pick him up and he still won't move. Sometimes he'll be like this for hours long after the washer stopped making noises.
I need to get kitties. I need to find a kitty acquisition solution that doesn't involve some organization asking intrusive questions.
Bandit (aka "El Bandido" the wondercat, because we wondered about him) was similar when it came to storms. Just couldn't stand them, and would get a sick look on his face long before most of us had any clue a storm was even coming. He would head straight to the 1/2 bath and hide under/behind the toilet. Actually smarter than we originally though as that's likely to be the safest place in the house!
