It makes me wonder if this is why TrekMovie and TrekCore have been notably silent on the whole thing so far. ...Did someone ask them to hold off perhaps?

I don't think they will continue the Diecast models. Producer prices and logistic costs have been skyrocketing in the last two years. Mostlikely one of the main reasons for the bankruptcy of the company. I guess they will let the people finish their Enterprise, Ecto etc. They paid a lot of money!
If they do get to continue in some fashion, it would be hilarious if the windows were aligned properly on all new releases. Wait, not hilarious...annoying.
TrekCore did tweet that they won't comment on speculation, only when they had official news to share, which ties with what Ben said in his Tweets. Work is clearly going on behind the scenes - there are rumours that Hachette were in talks to buy out the assets but it fell through. It could be that they, or someone else (De Agostini perhaps?) are still interested. Probably not worth getting your hopes up, but will be interesting to see what Ben can share.
Their is a reason the are bankrupt now. It's more likely a "We did all we can to save the models" Statement before leaving. Most collector's would wait for 30-50% off sales. And maybe it's not possible to sale a XL Enterprise model for 40 Bucks anylonger. Producer prices a skyrocketing...

That means no one has interest. It didn't work in 2022. Which company would take that risik for the future? Would really be interesting to see if DeAgostini makes good business nowadays or have the same problems and at the end the same fate... No one her in this threat ist saying a word about economic aspects. These companies can't live just from some hardcore collectors.
They literally do. That's how they work. Who do you think is buying little models of Nomad and Doctor Who figurines? The issue is balancing the price with the production costs. That was always the difficulty with the Enterprise-D part-work especially, and it will only be more difficult now. To be able to take it on, a new company will face higher production and shipping costs with probably fewer customers, because people will be reluctant to sink money into a subscription that has no guarantees of completion and has nearly failed once already.
But not only collectors... Sure collectors would spent 70-80 Bucks for a XL edition spaceship. Many of them will buy them as soon as they are available. But there are Sci-Fi movie enthusiasts, too. They will not buy it for MSRP prices and they will buy only a few models. Sure a company needs both of them... But something here went wrong, that for sure. And the economic situation with rising prices in the last two years let the company collapse. We had massive sales in the last years... it was just regular... That should tell you that something went in the wrong direction. It was not only in the last one or two years.

Chinese manufactors don't like to play licences. For all that models from Alien, Galactica, Trek etc. that will not be cheap... You can see what happend to all the Lego set clones from China in the last weeks. Lego fought for their rights in China directly and now all the clones are gone with lightspeed.
