I want to clarify, I'm not saying skip the episode as a means to deflect criticism, it's just, why complain about something you can skip? The series is episodic so I doubt you'll be missing anything important.

Spock's Brain, Code of Honor, Threshold, they didn't kill Star Trek, this won't.

Exactly. Star Trek is full of episodes I don't like, find annoying or poorly done, or even *gasp* a bad decision. So, I don't watch them. I don't think bad episodes do harm to the franchise because Trek has made bad decisions and somehow the franchise endures.

Yes it is hard to skip an episode. Star Trek is one of my all time favorite franchises. I have been watching it since I was like 4 years old. So I dont like when it gets surreal. If I want camp and silliness I will watch another favorite of mine. The original Lost in Space...

Hell given the prescription staff I wish they do a Lower Decks crossover with Rick and Morty.

I’ve been watching since I was very little, one of the hardest things to do was to come to grips with the idea Star Trek isn’t remotely realistic. I enjoy it a whole lot more after coming to that conclusion.

It's my number one, but I still skip episodes I don't like during rewatches.

Well of course. But if they had My Little Pony as a crew member I think many except maybe Bronies would take issue with it.

Star Trek when concieved was meant to be a more serious take on scifi. Am I wrong on that??

I dont mind lighthearted episodes. But Batman 66 level camp should stay on shows that were concieved for that type of stuff.

It was conceived as an action/adventure platform that could tell multiple different stories. It wasn't always serious and doesn't need to be. Fans take it more seriously than necessary.

    It's anything but camp.

    Futurama isn't camp either.

Lower Decks is a comedy and may have some camp to it. But it has a whole lot of heart that’s seen in 20 30 minute episodes that may rival what was done in 400 hours of Berman Trek.

I had COVID earlier this month and did a rewatch. It amazes me how much I connected with these characters.

We aren’t talking about My Little Pony, we’re talking about Lower Decks. A show that has as much range as any Trek show, with tighter plots and better dialogue than pretty much everything outside of TOS and SNW.

As well as they pulled off “Spock Amok” and “The Elysian Kingdom”, I have no doubt they can pull off a LD/SNW crossover.

I am 50. Many people over the decades have accused TOS of being camp.

TOS is only camp compared to, say, DSC. And even that's debatable. "Camp" in 1969 and "camp" in 2022 can be two radically different things.
