You might want to join the FB Star Trek Modelers Group.
It's possible you could find someone there willing to build one for you at a reasonable price.

I joined years ago, but now I just lurk and enjoy vicariously other folks creative talents.
(stopped model building several years ago, shaky hands & crappy closeup vision curtailed my endeavors)

Thanks. I just might do that. I used to build models pretty regularly. I still remember building my AMT 1701-A Special edition with lights and sounds back in the very early 90's. Was probably a bit much for an 8 year old, but it was a fond memory until we moved and my mother set a box on it..... but yeah, these days, with a 5 year old running around and work and life in general, I know I'll never find the time or the patience to "do it right".

Show me a comparison photo of the corridors please. And the sickbay. And the transporter room. And any particular person's quarters. In as little of a sarcastic way as you can manage. Because I never once put down SNW's production values or said that they didn't put any effort into the show. I said that things don't look like '60's production values. Which I also never said was a bad thing.

It doesn't matter. Clearly we're at an impasse. The corridors are different! How dare they spit on Gene's grave! Have they no respect!? Main Engineering is bigger and they use a VR wall. Clearly they hate Matt Jefferies. The sickbay? Well it has two levels now. Granted the CMO's office area is similar to the 60's, but not similar enough. Clearly, they hate The Original Series. Need I go on?

Listen... I'm just tired of the endless negativity thrown around for no reason other then people's lack of imagination. It's a visual reboot. Emphasis on the visual. We still have TOS, God knows I've got it in about every format available. This doesn't erase it from existence. But the idea is clear, that they've visually rebooted this particular era of Star Trek and if we want things to all line up, we might just have to use our imaginations. This Enterprise, barring any refit, is the Enterprise that fought the Romulans in Balance of Terror. This is the Enterprise that found Khan adrift in space. It's the one that took on the Doomsday Machine, The Klingons at Organia, Journeyed to Babel, plowed through a Space Amoeba, and even got grabbed my Honest Abe. All this and more until it finally met it's end over the Genesis planet.

Doesn't matter what you think, it's canon. If CBS says this is what it looks like now, this is what it looks like now.

The TOS ones are still warmer and somehow roomier, feeling more like hallways. This is just how they looked in 2259. They actually had more color and the mesh screens and barriers in DSC to mimic the TOS Enterprise corridors.

I'm really glad about how the corridors look nothing like they did in Discovery. It means there's every possibility they'll look entirely different again around... say 2265ish.

Ortegas: Have you seen the decks the enlisted live and serve in?

    Uhura: They look like cardboard.

Ortegas: Let's hope some wannabe progressive commanding officer doesn't turn all our decks that way in the name of equality or whatever.

It's funny you say that because to me the TOS corridors (at least the one in the picture) looks so sterile and cold, rather than a working environment of the SNW corridor picture.

Now that's completely subjective analysis and I don't think one is better than the other. One just appeals to me more, and strangely, with corridors, SNW beat TOS. :vulcan:

I give a pass on SNW Enterprise looking better than TOS Enterprise because they were working with a shoestring budget of around 185K per episode back in the 60s compared to the millions that they can play with now.

I meant the Enterprise's corridors we saw at the end of Disco season 2.

I love how people bitch about needing to have an open mind, yet self-righteously harp on people who they judge have a ‘lack of imagination.’ I don’t care that the show is canon. I know it’s canon. I simply disagree that they’re trying to make the show look like TOS. They’re trying the barest minimum possible to do that. And it’s not that big a deal, at least not as big as you’re trying to make it.
