It's a really informative interview and I'm much more enthusiastic for season 3 than I was before after having mixed feelings about the second season.

I'm most intrigued by this comment:

From what I've seen on Twitter most people are guessing Ro Laren. I'm pretty sure Michelle Forbes has said in the past she had no desire to return to Star Trek whatsoever, but I guess anybody can change their mind.

As far other TNG characters that could reappear that would be enough to get him excited, my guesses would probably be Denise Crosby (as Sela?) or Dwight Shultz. They've already done Hugh, Guinan, Q and Wesley.

Ro Laren? Michelle Forbes is still a working actress and we haven't seen her since she defected to the Maquis in "Preemptive Strike(TNG)." That's been 28 years.

While season 2 wasn’t great, I was frustrated at dumping most of the key Picard cast for the TNG cast. I was beginning to really enjoy them and their journey. This felt like a nostalgic choice and it still largely is. But checking in on more than JUST the TNG cast interests me.

    Even if no Miles O’Brien.

But Ro was the first character that came to mind. When it was stated it wasn’t the Chief.

Yeah I'm thinking Ro too! But he's also hinted some other characters and I'm really hoping we get someone from DS9 but sadly it won't be O'Brien. Not surprising though. Colm Meany lives in Europe now and is always working so he probably wasn't available.

I believe he did imply on Twitter we may see non-TNG characters in season 3 as well

Another character I’d love to see who would be a fascinating glimpse into a larger part of the Trek universe: Garak.

Which would be a perfect opportunity to bring in an older Dr. Bashir.

Since Alex Sidding learned to act and evolved into an excellent actor some time after DS9 finished, I would be very interested in a return of Bashir.

One time in one of his Sid City streaming meetups he said he'd definitely consider returning for PIC if they can give him a story for Bashir he felt was worth returning for. He's been open about the possibility since PIC launched.

Bashir is probably one of the best Trek characters, next to Pike. I'd enjoy seeing him back.

So many DS9 characters that need follow ups. Except Sisko. Any follow up on his character honestly would seem hollow IMO.

Dr. Pulaski. Diana Muldaur recently did a TV movie again after almost 30 years of not acting. She looks better now than she did on the 2012 blu ray interview as well.

I so agree. Pulaski deserves a decent send-off, too. That whole “Pulaski just vanished and no one said a word as to why“ thing TNG did never sat right with me. Not nice.

What if the new EMH is modelled on Pulaski?

Oh wow! I didn't know that! She was interviewed for Gates McFadden's Trek docuseries "The Center Seat" and I thought she looked rather frail. But honestly, I would love Pulaski to make an appearance but I'm still doubtful given Muldaur didn't enjoy her time on TNG and apparently there was tension between her and members of the cast (mostly Patrick Stewart).

I'm looking forward more to the next show after Picard's final season set in the same era.

Same. I'm sure the TNG crew will get (another) nice send off, but I'm more interested in Seven, Raffi, Elnor and Queen Agnes getting their own adventures.
