Specifically if The Fourth Doctor destroyed the Daleks in Genesis of the Daleks?

You get the Doctor of War as portrayed by Colin Baker.

“Do I have the right?” What if the Fourth Doctor had answered this question on Skaro and destroyed the Daleks once and for all? Find out in a new series of full-cast audio dramas, beginning with Doctor of War – Genesis, due for release in April 2022 by Big Finish Productions.

Colin Baker stars as an unexpected incarnation of the War Doctor – the Warrior. As he encounters familiar faces from his past, and future – Romana (Rebecca Night), the Master (Geoffrey Beevers), and Peri (Nicola Bryant) – this newly battle-ready Time Lord faces new challenges never seen before.

Doctor Who Unbound: Doctor of War – Genesis is now available to pre-order as a collector’s edition CD (+ download for just £19.99) or a digital download only (for just £16.99) exclusively here.

Times have changed. A choice was made and the universe diverged. And now all of history is at war.

One man stands at the centre of it all. But whose side is he on? Is he with the angels? Or the demons? And does anyone even know which is which?

He was a Doctor once, but now he is Doctor no more. He is the Warrior. The Doctor of War.
A second volume is already planned for release in September.

I wonder if Colin's performance will be similar to The Burner Doctor in Gallifrey IV: Disassembled.

Either way, I'm super existed about this! Of course, I'm still way behind on everything...

I am intrigued, mostly to witness the kind of worldbuilding a Who-niverse would have in one where the Fourth Doctor did think he had "the right". Looking forward.

The artist Mike Collins, who's drawn a number of Doctor Who and Star Trek comics, wrote a story for Julian Eales' charity anthology Walking in Eternity twenty years ago, "Hall of Me," in which an aged fourth Doctor discovers an "Unbound" incarantion that follows from exterminating the Daleks in "Genesis of the Daleks" -- Jessica B. Fletcher.

    I kid you not.

The story posits that, after a traumatic regeneration that partially destroyed her TARDIS, the Angela Lansbury Doctor finds her way again when she meets three children who mistake her broken TARDIS for a magical bed. Yes, Elgatine Price of Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Jessica B. Fletcher of Murder, She Wrote are both the Lansbury Doctor at different ages in that incarnation's life.

Jonathan Creek is another alternate Doctor in "Hall of Me."

ETA (very late): I left a crucial piece of information out -- the name of the anthology! Grrr....

First one only just came out (I haven't gotten to it yet...) and we already know a second is coming!

Colin Baker returns as the Warrior — a new incarnation of the War Doctor — in three full-cast audio adventures. As the Time Lord explores a corrupt timeline of the Time War, he encounters Leela (Louise Jameson), the Master (Geoffrey Beevers), and Davros (Terry Molloy)!

The Warrior commences a search for the Key to Time — the legendary artefact which the Guardians of Time used to maintain the equilibrium of time itself — and is assigned a very unexpected new companion.

Doctor Who Unbound – Doctor of War: Destiny is now available to pre-order as a collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set (+ download for just £19.99) or as a digital download only (for just £16.99) exclusively here.

Colin could be intense at times.

Peter’s Fifth Doctor still strikes me as the most tragic…right there with Eccleston. To this day…the change between those two personas was the most jarring. We have seen physical changes recently, yes/-but there was a real problem with violent deaths early on with the regen process and Six always struck me as the most unstable.

I listened to this last week. I found the episodes especially difficult to follow, unfortunately. Maybe I’ll have an easier time following things the second time through, but I was too lost the first time round to really enjoy it much.

Difficult in what? Bad plotting, bad mixing, bad something else?

Without spoiling things, the stories deal with multiple versions of the same characters, with the chronology jumping around wildly. I’m all for timey-wimey, but I would have preferred some helpful indicators as to who was speaking and where the scene fell in the narrative.

I think this quote from the script editor highlights what listeners are in for:

“I was encouraging everyone to throw in things that they didn’t understand, things that can link back and forth across a Time War. And because it’s Unbound they can do things out of the ordinary and a little bit weird and I think everyone’s really embraced the chance to go a little bit strange with it. It was great encouraging the writers to do what they wanted to do and it didn’t matter if it made sense.”

I don’t recall which actor it was, but one of them in the post-episode interviews acknowledged they had no clue what was going on in the story. And as I listener, neither did I.

Yes, very timey-wimey. Which is what you would probably get if you went back and did such a MASSIVE change to your own and the universe's timeline.
Not the standard Unbound fare, but very interesting. I await the second set.

Damn, that does sound chaotic. Could go either way for me so we'll see. But it'll be awhile since I'm waaaay behind. I still haven't even gotten to the Eccleston sets! And I just bought a bunch of recent Tennant audios because of the 65% deal they did to coincide the big news.

To be fair, Peter Davison says that about half the time.

I'm not sure if I will get around to listening to this anytime soon. During the pandemic I was able to binge on the audio dramas but not so much lately.

If you have the big finish app I think it shows you a section with a bunch of free audios. Not sure what they put on it though.
