DSC on top, eh? Very interesting. Statistically unusual. :)

You've seen my posts defending it. I'm not afraid to say a show that isn't TOS, TNG, or DS9 is my favorite. I know that's an invitation to be tarred on TrekBBS but I've been here for 23 years. I'll manage.

I'm not much of a Berman Fan and TOS is something I've moved on from.

I couldn't say. I only periodically participate in the forums; I mostly just post my Deviantart ships.

But you do you, my friend. Don't let anyone tell you what you should like.

I utilised a series of advanced ranking techniques and averaged out the results to create this list, which I'm confident is at least 33% accurate. Though I've only rewatched the first four seasons of most of them this last year or so, and some haven't even got more than four, so it's not all that fair.
    1. Deep Space Nine - My spreadsheet said it's in second place, but it's not, it's first. Stupid spreadsheet.
    2. Lower Decks - I don't want to put this so high, but it's really good so I have to.
    3. The Original Series - I watched this alongside all the rest recently and it actually holds up.
    4. The Next Generation - The stories get a little dry sometimes but I love its style and intelligence.
    5. Picard - Kind of the opposite of Next Gen in some ways. Puts emotion over plot or sense, but the characters make it watchable.
    6. Discovery - The dialogue's annoying me lately, it's got a weird uncomfortable feel, and the stories are ridiculous, but it can be really entertaining when it cuts loose and goes for it.
    7. Enterprise - The stories can be as dull and grey as the sets and it gets very repetitive but it can really pull off the action-adventure when it tries.
    8. Voyager - I was expecting to not to like this much on my rewatch, but it's actually pretty decent.
    9. Strange New Worlds - Way too early to tell. The first couple of episodes were alright and the crew's good.
    10. Prodigy - Too early to tell. Has potential but it's a bit childish for me at the moment.
    11. The Animated Series - Somehow drier than TOS but also more insane. Watchable though.
    12. Short Treks - The trouble with experimenting is that experiments often fail. It's good when it's good though.

I just switched the order of LD and TAS. Even though LD only made me laugh out loud once, I can take it in larger doses than TAS. I can only look at TAS's art style and listen to that music for so long. And I can only take so much of the men sounding like Scotty and the women sounding like Uhura.

If you enjoy DIS, I am honestly and genuinely happy that you do. Given that it's run for four seasons and a fifth is on the way, it has found a fanbase. And even if it wasn't my series of choice, I know that there's a lot to appreciate about it.

Maybe if I can ever watch Trek on my TV instead of my phone, I'll give it another look.

Let's start by saying I find something to enjoy about all of them. These rankings are relative to each other. Also, it's way too early to rank SNW. PRO is pleasant enough, and LDS is hilarious, but I'm leaving them off.

    TNG
    VOY
    DSC
    DS9
    ENT
    TOS
    PIC

At this point in my life.....I find it very difficult to rank-order the series. I don't know if I'm getting softer in my old age, but I find myself loving most all of it right now.

I'd go with framing it up like this:

    BEST:
    TOS
    DS9

    LEAST FAVORITE:
    LD

....and everything else is happily in-between and perfectly enjoyable.

To some degree I like them all and my opinions tend to move around a lot anyway so… can I just say I like Star Trek?

There might be a day I want to watch any of the shows and all of them have something I like. All of them have good episodes and bad…

If my arm was twisted today, I’d say:

    1. TOS/TAS
    2. DSC
    3. ENT
    4. PIC
    5. DS9
    6. LDS
    7. TNG
    8. VOY
    9. SNW

But that is absolutely not written in any kind of stone. SNW near the bottom, purely because I’ve only seen 2 episodes.

I still didn’t get a chance to watch Prodigy.

Looking over these rankings just goes to show that there is no accounting for taste. People's preferences are wildly different, and that's just fine. I suspect different elements of different productions have serious personal appeal to different people for different reasons.

    IDIC, baby!

It's what Trek is all about. :vulcan:

I won't rank any current ones as they are still on and my opinion could change based of where the shows go. So my rankings are:

    1. TOS/TAS
    2. DS9
    3. TNG
    4. ENT
    5. VOY

As for the series currently airing, I'd rank them:
    1. Picard
    2. Strange New Worlds
    3. Discovery
    4. Lower Decks
    5. Prodigy

The new shows I’d presently rank:

    1. DSC
    2. LDS
    3. SNW
    4. PIC

    Not seen Prodigy yet.

If forced to rank the new shows, I'd go like this (with notes attached):

DSC (trending down....last two seasons haven't lived up to my love for the first two)
    PIC (trending same)
SNW (only seen 3 episodes, but has potential for top spot given my heavy bias toward all things TOS)
PRO (only seen 10 episodes, and I'm biased against animated stuff...but it's actually REALLY quite good)
ST (not even really sure this is a "series"...more like a handful of completely unrelated webisodes)
LD (unpopular opinion: but it really does very little for me)

IDIC. A massive diversity of opinion in this community which is always good.

I'd say DSC has trended up for me with every season while Picard has trended down hard from about the middle of Season 1.

    1. LDS - Easily my favourite Trek series. It has everything I could ask for: Charismatic & engaging characters, wonderful world-building (including expansion of the existing Trek Universe), great stories (with very little use of the reset button), new stuff & nostalgia, humour (very funny!), and Cetacean Ops (I love you, Kimolu and Matt)!!! Oh, and Rutherford :adore:
    2. DS9 - Knocked off my top spot by LDS, it has everything mentioned above except overly wacky humour, Cetacean Ops and Rutherford. But DS9 does have an astonishingly good cast - regular and guest alike - who easily elevate what could be rather bad episodes.
    3. ENT - Another great cast playing engaging characters (although Archer & Reed I can take or leave sometimes depending who's writing them), I enjoy about half ENT's run of episodes (none of the other half are terrible), and rather like the prequel set-up.
    4. VOY - A great premise that was never followed through on, and full of missed opportunities and reset buttons. Only a few genuinely likable, if somewhat underused, characters (Kes, Tuvok, Chakotay, B'Elanna & Paris), but some great episodes amongst the average and downright awful ones.
    5. TNG - Somewhat dated, and mostly rather dull (I'm not really a fan of the stage play-like set-up/stories) although there are some episodes that I love. And, like with VOY, only a handful of characters that I like: Picard, Troi, Crusher (Beverly, not Wesley), and Worf.
    6. TAS - I wondered whether to include TAS because I haven't seen all the episodes, but despite not liking the cheapo animation style or many of the TOS characters, it did expand the TOS-era universe and introduced some wonderful aliens and ships.
    7. TOS - It's just too dated for me to really get into, and it's not helped because I really don't like the Kirk and Spock characters. However, I love the first four TOS movies - even Kirk and Spock!
    8. DSC - Not for me. I didn't engage with the main characters (except for Saru, Tilly, and Lorca before the MU reveal), and I don't like the filming style. Although, I did watch it through to the end of season three (I was kind of relieved that season four was pulled from/never made it to Netflix), and it did introduce the gorgeous and charismatic Anson Mount Pike :adore: along with the slightly less gorgeous Ethan Peck Spock & Rebecca Romijn Number One. I shall never forgive DSC for killing Airiam, though :wah:
    9. PIC - Oh, dear... I thought it was all rather messy and self indulgent. I couldn't finish season two as I just had no interest in the story or characters. One thing I did like was the Romulan Pixmit/Pikhmit cards from S1 - they were amazing! :rommie:

I've not yet seen SNW or PRO (or all the Short Treks) as they're not on telly here in the UK yet, but from the trailers, clips and behind the scenes stuff I've seen, I think I'll enjoy them very much!

    1) TOS/TNG/DS9: a three way tie between the series that are what I think of when I think of Star Trek

    2) Lower Decks: started rough but was great by the last three episodes of season 1

    3) Prodigy: can't wait for the rest of season 1

    4) Strange New Worlds: only 3 episodes in and I'm greatly enjoying it: it may well move up the list after more episodes

    5) Short Treks: fun little Star trek nuggets

    6) Voyager/Enterprise/TAS: the "meh" Trek: some very good episodes in there but Voyager and Enterprise were really showing the age of that era of Trek and running on fumes and TAS was ironically the least animated of all the Trek shows

    7) Discovery: I've found it marginally better each season, but it's had serious issues from the beginning

    8) Picard: season 1 depressed the hell out of me, season 2 wasn't as painful, but was all over the place
