Number One: Thor looks a lot like George Kirk from the USS Kelvin...

 

Speaking of the Kelvin, I wonder if they'll reference it in Season 2, if they bring up Kirk's family.

Me too. They probably won't though. The suits are probably afraid that we weak-minded fanoids will see them and say, "who the fuck is THAT, now?!?"

Without any corroborating evidence to support my theory, they were probably also reluctant to include Sam Kirk, initially. "Captain Kirk had a brother?? With a 70's pornstache???? No WAY! They're just making shit up now."

 

Would have been cool if Pike was watching Galaxy Quest...

 

Probably stating the obvious here, but Pike likely indulges in vintage Westerns. What better way to unplug from the fast life he leads!

 

Most of them are fans from way back. Alex Kurtzman was not but most everyone else.

 

Nah he watches Asian martial arts films.

Pike (watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon): I swear I've seen the woman in this movie before, but from where? Hmm...

 

Seriously, Pike watches whatever Paramount has the distribution rights to.

 

He needs to watch Laverne & Shirley reruns. That way Spock can ask why Lenny seems to be the junior partner when Squiggy is clearly the smaller and weaker of the two.

 

He should watch Indiana Jones just to mock Disney

 

I thought Abrams was the casual fan.

 

I heard Orci was the most hardcore fan with Kurtzman next and Abrams the casual fan.

it does kinda make me wonder why people are always so pissed off about Kurtzman then. Of course, I wonder why people are pissed off about so many things these days.
