Well, as a detractor of a lot of the season, I was pretty satisfied with how that ended. I actually think it was the best episode since episode 1 of the season, and I do think they could have easily told this story cutting the season in half. I really liked how the Star Gazer mission ended up, and the final goodbye between Q and Picard was well done. I think I don't like the Traveler scene, mainly because it was fan service and nothing really else, and there were parts of the beginning where I did feel like the episode was slightly rushed. Heck, I think this episode might have been more of a victim of some of the previous episodes of the series which is a shame because the conversation between Q and Picard did have a really good story in there. It just should have been simplified.

I'm feeling generous so I'm going to give this episode an 8, but it was more 7.5. It was a nice way to end a season I had difficulty with, and maybe in 2023 when I'm preparing myself for Season 3 of Picard, this season might go down better. That was the case when I rewatched Season 1, afterall, so anything is possible.

Interesting episode. Wonder if someone will use the standard dimensions of the ships to estimate the size of the anomaly. Also, I counted 30-40 ships in that shot -- does that check out with usual fleet size?

I think I missed the part where it was a retcon. So Wesley and Kore are going to restore the timeline, yet the crew has their memories from LA still intact? Or was it the idea that the Travelers were in charge of the Watchers. If it was the latter, yeah I actually do like that idea, and it finally connects Assignment Earth with the Franchise (Since it was originally supposed to be a spin-off series).

It makes the Travelers into the Time Lords and I'm entirely cool with that.

I also am going to state, upfront, EVERY SINGLE PLOT THREAD was wrapped up well.

Congratulations, Picard. Even I didn't think you'd pull it off.

I thought this was a bit of a mess. Was this timeline change by q and the subsequent adventures it caused the only way in all timelines Picard could get over his guilt ?

The Wesley thing came out of nowhere and he just seemed to be channeling his ready room excitement. It felt really off. There was no point to the kore story. And what’s with the new threat that was introduced 5 minutes before the end of the season?

How did Talinn know Soong was going to attempt to kill Renee in person and not just send drones directly or something. It all just felt quick and convenient.

I’m inclined to give this a 4 - maybe a 5 to be generous - but I’m gonna sleep on it and maybe give it a rewatch over the weekend.

I mean, it's a favor to Picard. Nothing more and nothing less.

It's also something that dramatically changes humanity's relationship with the Borg.

It was a way of answering the Assignment Earth series and giving a cap off to one of TNG's lost characters.

I admit, I totally ship Kore and Wesley now.

eh it was ''alright'' not truly awful like season 1 but not very good either so with this picard remain's the weakest stream trek

Amazing. This show has stuck the landing twice in two remarkably uneven seasons.

Yea I get that, but I’m having a problem that there was no other way to help Picard than q pretending to be a psychiatrist, texting Renee, helping Soong, helping kore, Changing the timeline?

I’m confused. Wouldn’t that timeline be erased for the prime when they fixed it? If so then it should be like they were never there. Guinan would have known about Picard if from the 1800’s if so.
So is Seven the captain now? That’s even worse that the JJVerse. At least he was in Starfleet. :)

    I enjoyed it.

It was nice to see Wesley. Based on what he said, he's way older than he seems. I guess he was too good for Starfleet.

I felt like I would have spent most of the season looking at my watch, if I still wore a watch. Still felt that way about twenty minutes into this one, so I was pretty amazed that they tied things up that well. Really liked the Q-Picard relationship resolution, and I never was much of a fan of Q stories. Liked finding out that Wesley Crusher made good. And I liked the fact that they seemed to provide an explanation for why it's necessary to save the entire universe every other week.

I'll give it an 8. I really hope Season 3 is just Picard and Laris giving classy French dinner parties.

    HEYOOOO!

OK, so they absolutely nailed the landing, and I'm doing cartwheels. Queen Agnes is COOL AS FUCK and she's available for future stories! Hell, we could have her in DISCO next season if the writers wanna straddle time periods. "The Guardian At The Gate." YES YES YES YES!!!

ELNOR LIVES! Suck it, dour, doubting past me!

BWAHAHAHA! SEVEN STOLE CHRIS' SHIP AGAIN! Like within three minutes of getting home. Matalas, I am gonna track you down and kiss you atop your beautiful, brilliant head.

    Loved the Wesley cameo.

The scenes between Picard and Q were *sublime*. I actually got teary. It was absolutely beautiful.

How we lost Rios is the one bit of wet newspaper in the mix. I still don't for a second buy his motivation for staying behind. But you know? We may have lost Rios, but if Seven keeps La Sirena, maybe we can get Santiago back as the hologram composite next season. I'd be OK with that.

I don't think the finale redeems the soggy bits of the season. BUT! I do feel a lot more confident in S3 - this was a kickass 45 minutes of TV.

Seems like them going to the past “always happened” so when the launch happened would Guinan suddenly get memories of times arrow ?

I mean, absolutely there was but Q, like Rios, died as he lived: a trickster spirit.

Take note that by using his bizarre circuitous route, he saved an entire Star Sector, Redeemed the Borg, built a transwarp conduit so the Borg can recover while opening up many new avenues for the Federation, and set it up so humanity fixed its environment (since this is implied to be a Predestination Paradox "meant to happen" - The Department of Temporal Investigations hates those).

So it's a fairly grand bow.

I mean, they allude to it. 600 million people died in it, which is a pretty staggering amount but not so much that it is all of Earth.

Rios and company presumably devoted their lives to helping people recover from it.

I mean, as with Elnor, it seems Q is responsible for everything.
