Outbreak — A STAR TREK VOY era fan film

Very well acted, pretty good director and editing, very nice (if simple) set design, CGI scenes were brief but well done. The script was a little predictable and the Bad Guys somewhat cliche. No major plot holes. Overall, I found it enjoyable and will give it an "A-minus". I marked down slightly only because the story line didn't surprise me. Well done, guys, well done.

The 5 mile diameter planet problem is all over recent fanfilms. That recent Doomsday Machine film for instance. If this film's planet were Earth-sized, that ring would have to be hundreds of km thick to show up as it does, yet when the starship is next to it, it's clearly maybe 1 km thick.

Anyway...

Story wise, I admire what they tried to do here, but I wished they'd use a finishing hammer instead of a sledgehammer to sell the point. What's going on is so obvious from the get-go that there's a not a single surprise to be had. *sigh*

There's also a logic problem. What does Immunicorp plan to do in the few days they have left had Starfleet not arrived? Their strategy is never clear. It seems like the population is all going to die off. No customers, no profits. Or did I miss something?

Why does the CEO call herself CEO? "CEO out." Huh?

This popped up in my YouTube feed. A VOY-era fan film that's pretty good. They built their own alien sets and tackle the medical industry complex, as well as a pandemic.
