Star Trek Bridge Crew delisted on Steam, Oculus. Expected to disappear everywhere else soon

One of VR’s most touted titles has sadly, and surprisingly, begun to disappear this week. Star Trek Bridge Crew from Red Storm Entertainment and Ubisoft has already been delisted on the Steam and Oculus stores. As of this writing you can still buy it from the Ubisoft Store for Oculus and Vive devices, and on PlayStation 4 for PSVR. Amazon and a few other sites appear to still have download codes but there’s no telling how long they’ll last. If you’re desperate to keep hold of the experience you can also grab a retail copy on PlayStation 4.

Notice: At the request of the publisher, Star Trek™: Bridge Crew is no longer available for sale on Steam.

I bought it from Steam. Really crap if I can’t still play it in single mode, which is how I always played anyway. Wonder if I can get a credit card refund!

Generally when games are delisted for sale on Steam for licensing reasons, they're still available for download by people who already bought them, and can still be played if you have a local copy. I've got several delisted games in my Library.

I'm sure there's some imaginable circumstances where Steam might pull a game from download, as well, if something really horrible happened, but SOP is for it to remain available for owners.

AFAIK Bridge Crew requires you to be connected to the Ubisoft servers to play SP, though. So if Ubisoft shuts them down it'll be on a fan patch to make the game playable again.

After the novelty wore off it was a bit naff anyway.

Would've liked to see more Bridges though.

Unless Ubisoft patch it to run sp while offline, although i don't see anything from the online side of this game that could not be moved to p2p....but this is Ubisoft we are talking about, so expect them to shut the servers down asap and kill the game for everyone who bought it.

Weird, the game is dead online so why would they renew the licence?

It's a great game, even if it is dead nowadays. I bought a VR headset for it and was a real blast playing with other people, but even a year after release it was pretty dead.
