To be fair, it was in fact Patrick Stewart himself who had Michael Chabon make that promise to him to get him to agree to be in and not totally pass on the project like he initially intended. Nice to see that after 20 episodes; Patrick Stewart relented on that condition a bit (maybe A LOT).
I think TNG will have a better send off than TOS. TUC was good but not great and the TOS characters came back in GEN, TNG/VOY episodes and JJTrek. But TNG series finale was fantastic and if Picard season 3 turns out great then TNG will definitely end better than TOS.
They didn't have a coherent ending for S1 and had a change of showrunner; it wouldn't surprise me at all if this wasn't planned at the outset.
I strongly suspect that whatever it's about, S3 will end with the final death of Jean-Luc Picard in the presence of both his TNG and his PIC families.
I wonder if there will be another little time jump and we'll find Jean-Luc approaching his 100th birthday?
"No biggie" and "not in as much of a hurry" to watch is a "wild overreaction"? Must be pretty sedate where you are. Exactly. If the purpose was to "build hype and anticipation", then, for me, it failed. C'est la vie. I disagree. The most important thing about the series that sold the idea to me. This...not so much. Oh well. Again, though, great for those who wanted it.
William Wallace is now 68. 16 credits from 1983-2003. IDK if any of the recent pics Google comes up with are actually him.
I think TUC (my fave TOS film) was definitely a better final get-together for the TOS crew (this was the final time they were all together on screen even though they voiced two 5YM era videogames released after) than Nemesis was for TNG, even though we have seen pretty much all those characters since, even counting fan productions Takei, Nichols and Koenig participated in
That explains the invites he is writing? Maybe he is only inviting his friends to season 3? I hope that Guinan is invited after being told to go away. Or… maybe it is his wedding! To Laris?
So it's TNG season 8, then. On one hand I'm kind of annoyed that the current cast are gonna be sidelined in favour of the oldies for the grand finale, but on the other I see the appeal of a "getting the band back together" adventure. Now for 47 wHAt wIlL worF LoOk lIKe threads.
Since the filmed seasons 2 and 3 back to back they should show them back to back too. I can't wait for this one. For those dudes who are greeting this as bad news, tough! I have no sympathy for you. And yes I hope they do a DS9 reunion too on "Star Trek Sisko" season 3.
Back to back is unlikely, but it's possible it airs starting in December, since after SNW Season 1 ends on July 7, there's 10 weeks for Lower Decks Season 3, 10 more weeks of Prodigy, then...nothing else to logically air after November 24.
Prediction: Alton Soong recovers another piece of Data from B4 and transfers that and himself into a golem. So it's Alton, but Data too. Probably wrong, but fun to think about.
Huh.. If they go down the Enterprise E route, she'll be 29 years old. Not that old. ! Though with all the set building with the Stargazzer ... I doubt it will be on the E-E
Apr 7-May 5: Season 2 Ep 6-10 June 16: Captain Picard Day Sep 28: #StarTrekTNG 35th Anniversary (1987) Dec 13: #StarTrek Nemesis 20th Anniversary (2002) I'm hoping at least the few eps of s3 are out before '22 ends. Not impossible right? Especially if Disco is delayed or summin
I have a feeling they, as actors and Stewart with creative powers, would totally jump on the chance to do one whole (or at least a big chunk of a) season of a show together in their later years. Would you say no to Patrick if he said he wanted everyone back together for a full blown reunion season? Probably wishful thinking but I'm hoping they are active characters all season. I would be unforgiving if they announced the return SO early and they end up only in like one scene each and without sharing screen time together. They absolutely want to share screen time together! They're all freaking best friends!
