Wow. Just so you know, the ship does not have a shuttlebay... Most of the rear is for the Warp nacelle...this may help: So there is no shuttlebay...it is all stores and equipment, and Main Engineering with the Warp Engine and Impulse assemblies.
So, more on the Emmett Some odds and ends done, Havent cut in the windows since I'm still futzing with .. well everything. Working out the details. Worked mainly on the main deflector today, Close to done on that part.. i think.. I'll abandon futzing with it sooner or latter, and finish it up Done an Ortho.. just cuz
If my eyes don't deceive me, are you using Maya, too? Might I ask how you go about with the panel lines, in that case?
Yep, Maya. Go to page 2 of this thread, and scroll down abit, I posted a tutorial image to do just that.
Some more work today, Worked on the saucer separation mechanism. Thought about a U shaped saucer sep, with the bridge staying with the star drive section, but didn't like the idea, so went with a Connie neck separation, if you notice the saucer sep line in the neck in previous posts. So this one is non destructive, so can recombine. More soon!
I'm getting a lot of Crossfield vibes in some of the angles on the Emmett Till. Which is good, because of love that design. I'll admit though, I love this a lot more!
I have to admit, I was never a fan of the Emmett Till design when I first saw it. This is making me change my mind a little. But on another note, without the second pair of nacelles, it would totally fit the silhouette of the Curiosity-class, don't you think?
Okay. Bout done with the building part. I am actually going to texture it.. I suck at that part, but we'll see.
I read the scripts for that project ages ago and the ship concept is a little lackluster, other than it going more hard edged due to Federation decline. What it really needed was a complete revamp of Trek combat so it isn't just trading shots and meaningless maneuvers. Something like dogfights, or sub-hunt style long range sensor stealth with warp missiles, or both depending on the engagement range. Fighting those ways would dictate some major changes.
Removed the images from the quote, otherwise this thread would be so cluttered. But I really love what you did with this design. I can absolutely see this fitting in as something that would work between the 2370's and 2400's. Well done!!!
Put something up for First Contact day! Back when I used to Texture stuff instead of making it Printable. Akira Class, USS James T. Kirk!
So, finished up the Intrepid type half saucer from Enterprise. Work on making pretty pictures some day, but its ready for printing!
so, some further work on the Alaska Class, some heres and theres, Some window layout, new impulse, still working on that.. I suck at Concepts!!!
