I went B, though that may be higher than it deserves. It's just that I can't help comparing it to the other 2 Kelvin movies, and I liked it better than 2009 and far far better than Into Darkness.

A+ for me. The best Kelvin movie by far (though I also have softened to 'Star Trek' over the years) and one of the best Trek Movies full stop. In fact, when I think about it, it might just be my 'go to' Trek movie from the whole gamut of them were I to reach for the shelf on a lazy Sunday. It's funny how over the period of a decade I've gone from loathing both the concept and execution of the Kelvinverse to actually feeling quite nostalgic about it all. I might just stick 'Star Trek' on this weekend.

I still don't think I'm ready to watch 'Into Darkness' again though. Once was enough.

Best one out of all trilogy. I hope Simon Pegg involve more for fourth movie.

Beyond has become my favourite of the kelvin trilogy with Into Darkness a close second

I still can't really separate them. They are all excellent but each also has it's flaws also.

I really like Beyond, but I can only give it a B. The Enterprise getting destroyed ... again, felt a little lazy and I can't get past them not using the transporters to simply beam out the bad guy at the end; at least tell us it won't work or something. But the film looks amazing and I like the cast and the general trek-feel.

A+ from me on a rewatch. Still the best of the lot and the most ‘Star Trek’ in feel. A very enjoyable movie.

I enjoyed "Beyond". I think the characters were well used and used for their strengths eg Uhura realising that the two voices were the same person. The CGI/VFX were really good. There was nothing that threw me out of the story (was there a scene in "Into Darkness" where people were running on spaceships? I might be thinking of a different film, it's so long since I've seen it). But I don't think the villain had enough motivation to do what he did.

Yeah, Beyond's biggest weakness is not utilizing a great actor to make a really iconic villain.

I'd still rank it # 1 of the Kelvin films just barely edging out ST09...........STiD way behind.

I'm not that way. 09 tops, with ID and Beyond tied.

For me, STID 1st of all Trek films, 09 second, Beyond somewhere in the 5-7 range, depending on my mood.

Beyond is my favorite trek movie period. And the only kelvin film to crack my top five. But then I also think Krall is one of the top 3 villains out of all the movies. They certainly could've done even more with him and I probably would've enjoyed that too, but even as is I feel there's significantly more to the character than a lot of people seem to think.

Beyond is... okay. Good, even. But it didn't feel like an "event". It's the Strange New Worlds episode of the movie franchise.

Perhaps he thinks it feels more like a good episode of a streaming service than a full blown theatrical event. Pretty good, but a tier below the other two. If so, I concur.

I just can't see that at all.

    I think this is fair.

It was like a case of 'follow that' after Cumberbatch. Idris Elba certainly deserved more. I think Thomas Hardy suffers from the same thing in the Nolan Batman trilogy.

Yeah, this. It feels like a weekly episode. A really good weekly episode I'd like to see more of, but not an "event" like the first two.

I guess it's like those "just another Marvel movie" entries before the big big ones EVERYONE goes to see.
