The idea was good, although even at the time, the conversion was not the best. Half the time, when I read that version on my computer, they would refer to the Thai-Ionian Empire instead of the Thallonian Empire.

Last year I found the Baen ebook CD that came with one of David Weber's Honor Harrington books about the same time in a box of CD-ROMs, and I was able to use Calibre to convert the books I thought I might want to read into epub format, which turned out okay. I know enough to fix them "under the hood," but I didn't invest the time for something I might not get to in a while.

Baen's CDs came with a wide variety of formats; the earliest CDs predated epubs, but I think they had pretty much every other format known to humanity asides from maybe PDFs. Either the Mobipocket or Microsoft Reader files should convert to epub perfectly well.

The New Frontier CD that @veritech mentioned only had PDFs, unfortunately. (Which are still perfectly readable, but not great for converting to other formats.)

Koric, the January 2022 URL you've posted does not work.

For UK readers, go to eBooks.com and the January 2022 Star Trek eBooks are £0.82 and not £0.99 like with Amazon. Given that there is no DRM and eBooks.com sells ePub, these eBooks can easily be converted to work with a Kindle.

I remember buying SCE eBooks in LIT format. I also remember removing the DRM so I didn't get stuck not being able to read on my Reader that did ePub.

I don't believe we are allowed to discuss stripping DRM.

LIT eBooks are dead. DRM on them is irrelevant.

As far as I am aware, it is a general prohibition against the topic in its entirety.

There are other recent posts about DRM that are not getting stopped by the moderators. Plus, I am not saying how to go about removing DRM.

Mods might not see every post out there. If you come across a post where someone is talking about removing DRM, you could report it.

As far as I am understanding the rules, we should not be talking about removing DRM at all. So I am asking you to please not do so anymore.

This is dragging the thread off-topic, so if you wish to comment on this further, please direct any future comments to PM. Thank you.

Bought Encounter at Farpoint, and would have got Q-in-Law too if I hadn't read it recently after finding it in my local second-hand bookstore - definitely recommended!

Ah, a few I didn't have yet in here. I'm still buying, but taking a break from my Trek reading and knocking some autobiographies from musicians out for a change of pace. Than back to the Trek backlog (which grows every month lol)

Also, while it's not the worst Trek cover ever, I always laugh at the Encounter at Farpoint cover. Ships at yellow alert, smoke coming from the rear of the bridge, but got time for the bridge officers to pose for a photo op. The doctor even brought her kid along for some reason.

    @Leathco

The original 1987 cover for Encounter at Farpoint was way better black background and a silver band with the blue TNG logo. Much better and eye catching too.

I hadn’t seen Farpoint yet and I saw someone sitting and reading this paperback with the logo cover and it was so striking. 35 years later it’s still in my mind.

Nice that this month was a TNG celebration and Q theme. It’s too bad Rogue Elements wasn’t on sale to join in the Picard series. A missed opportunity. Hopefully it will be on sale too, soon. Being that it is now the THIRD TIME being on sale for PICARD LAST BEST HOPE. I’d like to think anyone who wanted the book, got it by now. Same with Picard Dark Veil being on sale TWICE in the last year too.

On a slight off topic. My review on Amazon was pulled and deleted by Amazon for being too specific as to the SHUCKS AND FUDGES in the book Picard: Last Best Hope and since it was in the first 24 hours of the ebook being released, I was trying to be as vague and unspoilerific as possible. I will continue to support Trek writers by purchasing ebooks, but I WILL NEVER review anything again, much less on Amazon. I have better things to do than, waste my time to have someone arbitrarily complain and delete my review after 18 months in September 2021. 210 people thought it was helpful and I believed I was doing the right thing by letting Trek readers know what they were getting into. It was dirty, rotten, and unfair.

    Sorry for the aside.

    Just FYI EVERYONE
the Q continuum signature edition is a compilation of all three ebooks in the Q continuum series:
    Books 1-3:

    Q-Space
    Q-Strike
    Q-Zone

Which I also purchased as part of the monthly deals before back in August 2016, which has also been repeated in a monthly Trek deal recently too. So if you have all three Q continuum ebooks or are completist.

DO NOT PURCHASE these same three ebooks again UNLESS you intend to.

Only 2 or 3 ebooks are NEWLY DISCOUNTED for this month. All the rest have been discounted in other monthly Trek deals.

    Just a heads up. Sorry.

Looks like Dragon's Honor isn't available in the UK, unless anyone's found it?

Ah! Thank you. Weirdly, my searches for 'Dragon's Honor Trek' didn't bring it up. But 'Dragon's Honor Star Trek' did.
