    More speculation

I can see him being in an anniversary special, but I don't see him actually doing what the Curator suggested last time he showed up, namely being a Doctor wearing a previous Doctor's face.

Imagine him coming back as the 14th doctor?

Surely he should be the next incarnation of Rassilon?

    Please, no, thanks in advance.

I suppose the question that won't be answered for some time is whether RTD wants to revisit past glories or move forward. Bringing back Murray Gold would suggest the former, and I'm not sure that's what the show needs. It's never going to be 2005 again.

I sincerely hope the Tennant/14 rumours are the bullshit they seem to be. I can't imagine there's a shred of truth in them but with RTD you never know...

Personally I really liked Tennant as the Doctor, is he my favourite Doctor, no, is he even my favourite nu Who Doctor, not remotely, but I wouldn't even want to see Matt return as another Doctor, we need new blood, the casting just needs to be the kind of casting that gave us Tennant or Smith.

I'm fine with the casting that's given us every Doctor we've had so far, from Hartnell to Whittaker, plus Hurt and Martin. The quality of the show has varied over the decades, but every actor has brought something worthwhile to the role of the Doctor, even when they've had a rough start (Colin Baker and Peter Capaldi, for example).

Nothing quite says ‘that was a bad idea’ than going back to Tennant… mind you, I half expected Capaldi to turn back into Smith after one season, just for the unexpectedness.
One hell of a course correction, even I didn’t think things had got so bad as to roll that particular die. Last time it was even mooted was The Dark Dimension.

One may as well get their information from tea leaves and chicken bones rather than from twitter, as i hear the first two are more reliable. lol

Do you think he will bring the old wirting staff and Murray Gold back with him? I want Gold back so badly...since he´s gone Doctor Who Music has been...basically "bleh" and "sonic wallpaper" to me.

What if they return but play a vastly different type of Doctor then their first time? I could totally see Tennant as a very deranged, mad and slightly diabolic version of the Doctor...more Master then Doctor. Actually...lets totally flip the coin some more and have the Master actually be the more sane and benevolent person..trying to get the balance between the two back to what it was.

Or just have him regenerate into the Valeyard played by Tennant.

I saw someone suggest Tennant return as the Master. That might be a cool idea if done right.

I wonder what the Venn Diagram of people who believe Tennant will be coming back, people who think Donal Trump is still President and people who think Bill Gates is putting chips in your body via COVID vaccinations looks like?

Sometimes the way RTD and Moffat used Gold's music, I really wished they'd bought temp track music (ex., Two Steps from Hell) and used that instead. I like Gold's music, it's effective, but the way it was chopped up in the editing room -- Gold wasn't there to spot it -- I find it often stands better on its own.

I'm not always fond of the music telling me how to feel, I'd rather the script did that, so that was one of my issues with Gold, but by the same token the current music hasn't made much impact at all on me if I'm honest.

Gold's 11th Doctor theme is still probably my favourite piece of his Who work.

Doctor Who never had a "writing staff" in the tradition sense of the term. Will RTD bring back the "old guard" from his era? Doubtful. I doubt Chibnall is coming back a year after he stepped down from running the show. I'd be very surprised if Moffat came back. Gareth Roberts isn't exactly in demand these days after those transphobic comments he's been making. Mark Gatiss, maybe, he did make comments in an interview about a year ago that he'd be open to returning to Doctor Who.

I'm less interested in if Gold comes back than if the season 10 soundtrack album is ever released. Which, I suppose, is more likely if Gold comes back, so....

I do quite enjoy the current arrangement for the opening credits, the music once again having that otherworldly aspect pioneered by Delia Derbyshire and the swirling eldritch visuals being a volumetric equivalent to the "howl around" developed for the original series debut (59 years ago as of this post).

I think it would be interesting if Tennant and Catherine Tate(also rumored to come back) are because the big bad is using their image/appearance to taunt the doctor.

13- You're not me! You're just taking on their appearance!
