@Harvey and I just spent 4:40.07 tweaking and getting all the citations (68 of them!) together for our FACT TREK takedown of episode 1, "Lucy Loves Star Trek." 45 questionable items in 42 minutes of runtime. We'll put the blog up after New Years hangovers ebb, but here's a few little sneak peeks.

That’s an amazing piece. Again, thanks for the diligence.

I’ll say it again: where’s the book? Now that I’ve jumped off the Treklit train, I’m looking for stuff to read. I’m reduced to reading old fanzines to (hopefully) get “period” flavor. I’ll never read another Cash-book. I swear!

Their choices are odd. They had an episode on TOS, then TAS, then TMP, then one on WOK/SFS/TVH, and I'm following along and it's making perfect sense to me, but then they skip the last two TOS movies and go right to TNG, and I'm wondering if it's because TNG started before they came out and they'd circle back to them, but no, they then skip DS9 and go right to Voyager.

Episode 1 is an editorial mess, hyperactive and unwilling to stay on anything for more than a few seconds.

I've been reading Maurice and Harvey's fact-check of the first episode this evening, and it's fascinating stuff - I'm learning a lot. Thanks, guys!

Don't know when I'll get to see the series itself.

They didn't skip DS9. Do you watch it on CTV Sci-Fi? The episode that aired on December 23 covered DS9. It was the week before the Voyager episode.

Apparently the rights will revert back to the Nacelle Company at some point, so it won’t stay exclusive to History’s poorly promoted subscription service forever. It could be a few years, though.

They're definitely not making them easy to find. Even knowing it's on History Vault, it took me a few attempts to find the service and the series. ( https://watch.historyvault.com/topics/the-center-seat-55-years-of-star-trek )

But I don't see the first four episodes there or on Amazon (which it turns out is the easier way to find History Vault). Is there any (legal) way to catch the first four episodes online in the United States?

I got the first episode from Amazon Prime and watched it yesterday. What a cluster.

I've now bought and watched all 11 episodes available on Amazon Prime (I had a gift card, otherwise I would NEVER buy streaming content).

1 & 3 were the worst. Wall-to-wall Cushman levels of bad scholarship. I caught many of the errors in the first & third episodes thanks to @Maurice & @Harvey. It's entirely possible the rest are just as full of inaccuracies, but I just don't know enough about those series to catch the errors.

I did appreciate the frank discussion of the bad blood between Mulgrew and Ryan. It was refreshingly honest.

Episodes on TAS and ENT were great; those series get much less play, so it was awesome to see episodes about those. It was nice they weren't forgotten.

So, some good and some bad. If you skip these, you're not missing a whole lot.
