I kinda thought the series would be cancelled so when it got s2 renewed I figured I'd continue watching what I had on DVR.

I'm wondering if someone on the creative team is a fan of the German drama Dark which involved time travel because until the last episode I was wondering if Gavin could actually be his own son's son. That his son Josh and his love interest Riley have a son stranded in the past and that son travels to the future and becomes Gavin. So Gavin is his own grandfather.

I'm not sure the events of the last episode completely rule that out. I actually think the old man is Gavin as well. So maybe at some point Gavin kidnaps himself as a baby/child from his son(Josh) in the future in order to bring himself to the right time in the past.

Since he had a 'sister' found with him I think the most likely candidate for 1988 is that Lilly travelled with the kid version of Gavin and that's her as an adult as the artist... Which also then makes you wonder if perhaps the stuff with Veronica and the 'kidnapper/father' could actually be related to the past? Maybe Veronica is actually 1988 Lilly's daughter.

Could Veronica be a grown up Lilly?

Yeah, the Gavin twist definitely took me by surprise. I was already suspecting that he was from there when they said he was just found wandering around, but I did not expect him to be he blond kid.
The big thing I'm wondering about is how the woman who jumped down off the plane, who's name I forgot, seems to know so much about what is going on. My theory right now, is that she left some kind of journal or something telling herself everything that is going to happen.

Right, like I said also, I had totally called the "he came from the past" bit, but assumed that he had came through a few decades earlier, and that the 1800s gold came 150~ years ago - i figured things were a bit more synched up than they currently appear to be.

So many oddities. Did the timeline really get changed? Why did the sinkhole move? In the end, Lilly still went through. Did Josh and Riley go through the last iteration? Where did they go before Lilly and Isaac were discovered, then? There has to be a sequence of portals that will, with proper mapping, allow them to loop back to a "before" time, i'm guessing? Josh and Riley, in a Slider's style adventure, trying to find the next portal to go to the next world/time before they miss it and get stuck..... could be interesting..... Either way, there has to be a sequence mapped out, because there is no way the lady that just came via jumping out of the plane could have built that otherwise.

How did Gavin know what was going on when Izzy got sick? He shoudln't have known much about that situation. Is there any reason to believe the new portal actually took them back to the same time period as the La Brea one? Portals can apparently go from anytime to anytime. My guess is that they came out a few decades earlier then expected, and that the old man IS Gavin, trying to break a timeloop of some sort. This show raises lots of new questions, without answering any of the old ones, thats for sure.

I don't if they can go from any time to any time, they seem to be leading back to the same relative time around 10,000BC so far.
I would love to see this turn into a time travel show, with the character jumping around into different portals to different time periods. They could still keep the 10,000BC era as their home, with them going off on different missions or something through different portals.
The tower at the end looked kind of futuristic, so that has me wondering if Silas and Aldridge are from the future. It just occurred to me that the tower could be the reason the portals all seem to more or less lead back to that same era, maybe either making the portals, or serving as some anchor that keeps them going back to the time where it exists.

I'm actually kind of interested in this. They are promoting it a lot here with it starting in February here. The premise reminded me of one of my favourite animated shows Valley Of The Dinosaurs....

Can they see the outside world from where they are, like planes flying over and such? In Valley, in one episode only they caw a plane and that always struck me as a huge plot hole. If you can see planes in a place like this flying overhead why doesn't anyone notice the huge dino valley below?

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
There's a portal, a hundred meters down a sink hole. At the other end, in the past the portal opens a hundred meters in the sky.

They should be dead, after falling 200 meters to an abrupt halt.

Unless they went to a third space between the past and and present where they fell up for 200 meters and cancelled their velocity.

    (I'm estimating the distance fell.)

So they are on the ground in the past, and a hundred meters above them, is a floating glowing portal they can't pass back through without a plane.

    OK....... makes perfect sense

Don't forget that stupid show Revolution, where nanobots turn off electricity everywhere and magic amulets can restore electricity because plot. Oh and everyone on the show can stay really well dressed and have clean styled hair all the time and the fat guy never ran out of food.......

I really wanted it to be concave inner earth, where the gravity inside is inverted. Could have technobabbled an explanation about falling, inverting and being softly pulled back to the inner ground, or something.

They can't see anything through the portal, but
it eventually turns out there are multiple portals, and people and objects have been crossing back and forth for hundred of yeah.

Were the new Godzilla and Kong movies in that same universe or were they different franchises?

Yes I did and it was fucking loud and stupid, and somewhat fun
How fast is Kong? He climbs out of hollow earth up a shaft Godzilla made into the Earth and is on the surface in almost no time.

I knew those movies have Hollow Earth, but is it an upside down, facing the core, ground is the bottom of the crust, inverted gravity version?
