Yeah, Shatner's 90 and not exactly trim and toned like an Olympic athlete. George isn't, neither.

Less is more. When Shatner got out of that capsule, he literally commanded the world stage by describing his reactions to space. Then came a full plate of interviews for the TV networks. I'm pretty sure he got worldwide coverage.

Cutting down on Bill's air time to hear from the supporting actors might have had some geek appeal, but most of the planet wasn't waiting to hear from Mr. Chekov. And worse: at the landing site, unless Bill was generous to the point of silence, he would be in for another year of catty attacks by his ankle biters. At least.

he went into space and still rides horses at 90. I hope to be in a similar shape at his age.

I wasn't even in his shape at 40.

Try some of his moves. This is how he stays in shape...

That off-the-wall one in Journey to Babel will always be my favorite.

Isn’t that the only drop kick that Kirk ever missed his opponent entirely?!?!?

It proves that the old TOS sets weren’t made out of “cardboard”, like some will claim.

OR that they choregraphed the fight in such a way they had reinforced sections for these types of things/had people holding boards on the back side to keep the wall section up. ;)

I saw Corben Bernson buying GI Joes at a comic store in Halifax.

Did he voice Kyle in TAS?

Hanks would make sense as not only a huge movie name but for the Apollo 13 thing . but 'Captain Kirk in space' is pretty much the best possible choice. and it has the Shatner humour element too . surprised he wasnt first choice. (figured Patrick Stewart might've got asked too)

I find it funny that so many people like George Takei, Joan Collins, Prince William etc. are giving Shatner a hard time. He went to space at over 90.5 years of age. Dangerous enough with all that ticket fuel but his age made it more dangerous. I watched it live and I was so happy he got to go. It was the coolest thing to see him actually get to space if only for a couple minutes. It was the best day for me in a long time.

Yeah, the haters are just jealous and wish they'd been asked.

Exactly. Shatner also broke the age record which will hopefully hold up for a long time. It was so cool.

Buzz Aldrin is 91 and stays active in a great-grandfatherly way. I have no doubt he'd go if he were asked.

Jeff Bezos must have seen Takei’s audition for the space flight and said “No way in Hell do I want him behind the helm on my ship.”

George is so jealous. Shatner upstaged him even in old age and Shatner is several years older. It really must bug him. Lol. I like George to be honest and I wish he would let this go and just be happy that Shatner had a experience that few have had.
