What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

That was exactly my point. There's some very talented people out there that just aren't part of a particular union that can do a better job for free than these guys paid big bucks, just because they give back some of their pay as blood money to the union.

 

Even the Kelvin Timeline movies retained echoes of the TOS female uniforms and makeup looks. Miniskirt uniforms being one of those echoes complete with high boots. There were no sleeves and no plunging necklines but otherwise the female Starfleet duty uniforms bore a strong resemblance to TOS, far moreso than anything we've yet seen in DSC.

The robotic AI tentacles were eye-roll inducing. These writers' fetish for high-tech, galaxy-threatening menaces that look like they came out of a Matrix film has already reached tiresome and gone beyond it. At least with the Burn in DSC its cause was original if weird and had nothing to do with nanotechnology, interdimensional machines who want to destroy all organic life or Section 31. Enough, guys.

 

I wonder which side the Borg would prefer to be on, the Synthetic AI Cthulu-like Life Forms, or us Organics, or their own hybrid Biological/Synthetic Hybrid Borg side?

From Armus' perspective? Sure, they dazzle. They're changelings and he's black sludge. The Changeling species was stated as originally being humanoid. They're warp-capable on their own. The Great Link could have come from anywhere. They had to be nomadic while they were on the run before they managed to create the Dominion. So, yeah.

The Female Changeling said to Odo in "THE SEARCH, PART II" that Changelings used to be 'monoforms'. I might be wrong on the episode, but I do know she said it to him once.

^For accuracy's sake, though, those lines don't necessarily mean they were humanoid.

Solid and humanoid aren't the same thing.

 

I know plenty of humanoids that are not solid.
