The Transporter was involved and from what we saw, it seems like it was a combination of "The Enemy Within" & "Second Chances" type of duplication.

So we're in a whole new ballgame here.

Personally I don't believe that either of them are truly whole at this point and we will probably see just what this entails as the season goes on.

Anybody wanna bet that Thomas Riker shows up at some point?

Likely ends up like "The Enemy Within" where the two Boimlers are forced back into one.

That would be way too obvious, I suspect that Mr. McMahan has something a little more convoluted planned. :techman:

Presumably for comedy. Suddenly, one Boimler was cool and confident and wanted to stay on the Titan, while the one that acted more like Boilmer-Prime (aka our Boimler) was kicked back to the Cerritos.

However, another take on it could have been that BOTH were nervous and insecure and neither wanted to be on the Titan, but one of them was forced to stay. Could have been just as funny if we understood that there was going to be a Boimler on the Titan who was miserable instead of an inexplicably cocky Boimler whose new personality wasn't justified in any way.

I think that's a fair enough explanation, but I honestly think it didn't occur to the writers.

In "The Enemy Within" they had to go back to one person because they were going to die. So I don't think it's the case here.

They're forced to rejoin, but Billy Boims refuses and creates another Tuvix situation...

Maybe one of them (the Boimlers) will get combined with another one and REALLY get into a Tuvix situation.

No noticable weaknesses in this one. Loved the part in the Orion thief society and he Shax thing was brilliant as well. The idea of having Tom Paris visit the Cerritos was fun and skillfully executed.
So far the first three episodes of S2 are of the same caliber as the best ones from S1. I hope it's not too much to ask that the the rest will deliver similarly, because that would be just awesome.

you’re in for a ride: I’m of the opinion the later half of the season is actually better than the first!

    That was stupid. Reallllly stooooopid.

If it weren't for the in-jokes on everything from a B-plot ADF added to Star Trek Log Ten (to explain what was going on aboard the Enterprise while Spock, Sulu, and Uhura were on a shuttlecraft alone) to fan merchandising, to fandom itself, I'd call it a total loss, Robbie's appearance notwithstanding. As it is, it's probably the first time I've rated anything as just a 5.

What? No "Don't mince words, James, what do you really think?"?

I'm rewatching the series to get ready for Season 3 and of the 4 episodes I've seen so far, this episode is still the best. I loved Tom's "Kazon" at first seeing Boimler.
