I don't see how Discovery can make it to release on December 30th (latest possible date this year) if they're still filming in October.

...unless they take a break halfway through the season a la Season 1. Maybe stick in Picard or SNW between the two halves.

Just came across this special feature dedicated to Kenneth Mitchell from the Discovery season 3 blu ray.

It is both heartbreakingly sad and full of joy at the same time and Kenneth Mitchell is an inspiration. The love and camaraderie of the Discovery cast and crew is on full display

Be warned though, don't venture into the comments unless you want to see how childish, petty and hateful people who claim to be Star Trek fans can be.

I mean, it depends on whether they were born there. Earth Brexited from the Union so I imagine it was a complicated issue.

Presumably some of the crew are humans from Earth but there's probably people from Tarsus IV or Mars even then.

Their passports would have been around 900 years out of date.

If your referencing the episode they go to Earth then you have one exceedingly simple explanation. Per their lie, none of these people would have possible be born on Earth. Remember they stated they are a generational ship continuing the mission of the original crew. Since they already know the ship is from the period of 23rd to 25th centuries, that means any original humans would have been long dead...

Of course even if they told them the truth, we would need to know where each human crew member was born, to even begin having a discussion about citizenship of Earth. After all even in Kirk's day there are plenty of places that have humans on them that aren't Earth, but colonies that were originally settled by people of earth, let alone people of earth who settled on already established Federation worlds.

Local web store CDON has Discovery Season 3 listed on their website. No release date yet, though. I don't think the worldwide release have yet been confirmed, but it should be sooner rather than later.

They also listed Lower Decks for November 25th, so thats good, since Nordics release for it was not quite certain from the tweet.

With NYCC later this week, there's a pretty good chance our big fourth-season trailer is right around the corner. Hype!

I love DISCO and have from Season One but Burnham becoming Captain is something I question the storytelling of. I thought Season 3 was all about illustrating that Burnham worked much better as a maverick and was not something who ever would be able to work within the rules. That she would never be a captain and that was probably good for her.

Burnham and Book are meant to be space vigilantes and adventurers. Tilly and Saru are Starfleet.

They threw in this random and cheaply earned "Saru was compromised and didn't follow Starfleet guidelines" thing towards the end of season 3 or something like that. It was blink and you'll miss it, but I think that supposedly made it seem like he was unsuitable for captaincy. As if Burnham has never put a foot wrong...

But yeah, Burnham was always going to be captain on this show. It was only a matter of time.

I am actually a little bit interested, cautiously so, in the president's comments if they are directed towards Burnham, that there is a difference between a wrecking ball and a pendulum. I am really hoping they explore Burnham's personality, the choices she has made, and how it informs her new job as captain.

Making Burnham captain is unfortunate. It shows a complete lack of confidence in the idea initially presented of exploring the perspective of the main character other than the captain. I guess with Lower Decks they felt that was too repetitive. So, hopefully, they do something unique with Burnham. Otherwise, yet another time Star Trek wastes its potential.

Yes and no. They did seem to start to be building up towards Saru being incompetent, with his obsession with finding the lost signal from his people, and his questionable choice to make Tilly acting XO. However, they ultimately had him willingly choose to resign his captaincy, rather than be dressed down and demoted.

Making Tilly XO is a thousand times more understandable than Burnham captain.
