Yeah. I'm probably in a minority, but I still wish he'd finish his Real Heroes series, but after seven years, I guess he just abandoned the project.

If you mean that Prestige+ format, I love it. Close to the European format, and it really lets the art shine. Would think it ideal for an artist specialized in blockbuster visuals like Bryan Hitch. I wish they had gone with that format for the current Batman book by Garth Ennis and Liam Sharp. In fact, I wish they'd re-release Sharp's Batman/Wonder Woman series in that format, that detailed artwork screams for these kind of dimensions.

Also, I hope DC takes the opportunity to do a facsimile edition of the oversized JLA: Heaven's Ladder graphic novel by Waid & Hitch. I only got the German edition at the time, and any reprints since were sized down to regular format.

I absolutely know people who won't buy them only because of their size, regardless if they're interested in the content or not. You're definitely not alone.

Luckily the content so far has never been a draw for me to begin with, so I haven't had to think about it much.

I haven't bought any of them yet, but I have been tempted. Instead I've purchased them on Comixology and the dimensions of the pages fit perfectly on an Ipad screen. The layout is great for art, but the cost is prohibitive and how do you store them when they aren't going to fit into comic boxes?

I had been wondering about Comixology - is there a way to save what you buy?

In the sense of having a back-up if something goes wrong with the service?
The old Android app requires that you download the files before you can read them, but that's true on the Amazon side as well, and I've heard of cases of ebooks being deleted.

I've bought hundreds of ebooks and digital comics over quite a few years, and I've never lost access to one that I paid for. Even when the books are no longer available digitally, I can still download and read them with no problem.

Nearly all of the companies, not named DC or Marvel, allow you to download PDF backups.

Not new art unfortunatley--that is an alternate cover for one of the LSH issues already published.

Details are scant, but apparently the upcoming Justice League Annual is going to start to pay off all those Bendis LoSH teases:

    December Solicits are out!

Bunch of Bat-books, of which the most interesting to me is the new "Batgirls" series starring Cassandra Cain & Stephanie Brown, but I'm still not gonna buy it.

    - JL Annual, as @The Realist noted, teases the return of LoSH, but also brings Wonder Woman back into the fold (with Hippolyta still around on the cover, along with OMAC and a few other characters in the background we haven't seen in a while, though the cover also prominently features Clark-Superman, so not sure if we'll actually get to see those same characters in the book itself)
    - Three-part Swamp Thing mini-series for Black Label by Jeff Lemire. Tempting, but my budget doesn't allow it.
    - Six-part World of Krypton mini-series by Robert Venditti & Michael Avon Oeming. Again, tempting, but I think I'll trade-wait this one.
    - One-Star Squadron, six-part mini-series using B-, C- and D-list heroes to satirize modern capitalism and the app-driven gig-economy, by Mark Russell & Steve Lieber. I'm a sucker for Russell's brand of satire, so this one I'll get right away.
    - I see the Milestone Compendium has been pushed back and added ten bucks to its price. Bummer, but it's still such a bargain.
    - Represent!, appears like a high-brow short story collection that's more aimed at the book stores and Eisner Award-consideration than actual comic shops. 25 bucks for less than 200 pages by people I'm glad are getting a chance, but of whom I've never heard, so my budget definitely says no.
    - That variant cover for Action #1038 looks like a Superman/Conan mash-up.
    - Batman '89, Crush & Lobo, Icon & Rocket: Season One, JL Infinity, LotDK, Robin & Batman, Superman vs Lobo and The Swamp Thing conclude.
    - Argh! Mark Russell writing Ace the Bat-Hound for the Urban Legends anthology book. But I've gotta stay hard on this, I'm not buying.
    - None of the collections (other than the re-solicited Milestone Compendium) strike my fancy. Which my wallet is thankful for.

One Star Squadron particularly pissed me off by its cast. The original Power Girl ran a fairly successful Tech company, and she's just not a character for this kind of shitty comedy. A character like Booster Gold makes way more sense. Hell Ted Kord makes more sense, even though he was an amazingly successful businessman and inventor before Giffen/Dematteis ruined him by making him a bumbling idiot in their Justice League book in the 90s.

Now, if this is supposed to be the dumb bimbo (aka New 52 Earth 2) Power Girl, then she fits the team well, what with her canonically only getting things done by either punching things or sleeping with people (the New 52 Mr. Terriffic and World's Finest books were really fucking atrocious). But the art shows more of an OG Power Girl, and she's been the one hinted at with the JSA stuff, so I'm sticking with being pissed at One Star squadron until proven otherwise.

Also, as a big fan of All Star Squadron, I'm also irritated that its name is kind of being modified for this crap, but the Power Girl thing pisses me off more.

Is there any hint that World of Krypton might tie in with the main Superman titles?

No its not. One star Squadron is about a bunch of losers doing shitty jobs (they even specifically mention birthday parties). Power Girl is so far above that level its ridiculous, and same with Red Tornado

I actually thought something like this was a decent premise when Giffen/Dematteis did it in the Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't believe Its Not the Justice League minis, since then it was kind of a pseudo-sequel to their Justice League era, didn't shit on the characters as much and had a more appropriate cast. Remove Power Girl and Red Tornado from the book and I wouldn't have a problem with it, it would just be another shitty comedy comic. But fucking over PG and Red Tornado is a giant insult, and shows that DC will really just let any hack writer ruin any non- batman related character.

Power Girl and Red Tornado would never be involved with something like this Pre-New 52. If this is the idiot New 52 PG then the art needs to change to reflect that, and the New 52/Rebirth Red Tornado is apparently barely a character but should also have a changed design to show what version is in the comic.

They aren't hiding what this book is, so you're being completely disingenuous by pretending I'm misinterpreting anything.

I was referring only to your interpretation of the New52 Power Girl which was incorrect. I do not have any opinion about One Star Squadron itself. In fact, I tend to agree with you but will refrain from judgment until we have more information.

I just read issue #1 of Superman and the Authority. I have a question:
Can somebody please help me out here?

The issue opens with Superman speaking with Kennedy in 1963. Kennedy mentions Superman's time with the JSA.

Is this Superman's backstory now? He's been around since the 30s or 40s? I don't believe that this is supposed to be an alternate Earth as it is reportedly tying in with the Warworld storyline. Can anybody tell me what this is about unless it is part of spoilers for the actual series and then please just reply something like "all will be revealed in issue #3".
