Yeah, it looks like they took a grille box and mated it to a base with two large circles that lights were put on. The Bajoran fighter looks like the prop was installed with the bottom visible (the box is recessed instead of sticking out.)

I think they made pedal versions of those kinds of riding toys but I can't say if Jeep was among them.

Good progress on the TUC Ent-A conversion. I've spent most of this week focusing on the consoles, getting them modified for TUC. The upper monitors were a bit higher, and those upper banks didn't have as round as a lower edge as they did in TFF. Also recolored all of the graphics to be accurate to their TUC apperance (more green elements) and created the new graphics that weren't used in TFF.

I'm going to focus on the helm next before going back to create the TUC-specific animated CRT monitors. I also have a few more props to generate, like the chronometers above Spock and Uhura's stations, the fire extinguishers, and a couple more odds and ends. I suspect I'll be done with this baby in another week!

It's the bridge to one of those new shows, the helm is all floaty, translucent, holographic ....stuff

I'm definitely with E.C. Henry on this one: If my ship had holo-projectors all over the place I would get them to call up an actual helm console!

This is a thought about a new show and holographic controls.
I would have given real money to see Picard call up the conn station from E, D, or Stargazer. Or maybe a spoked wheel. Anything but jabbing wildly at thin air.

Anything but a joystick, that is.

Some boats and ships DO use joysticks for steering instead of wheels. I prefer wheels but I had to point this out. Yeah, the joystick in Insurrection was stupid.

It was stupid, not because it was a joystick, but because it rose up on a pedestal out of nowhere.

I didn't mind the pedestal, but controlling an object in 3-D should require 2 joysticks, not just one.

It works if you control yaw by twisting the joystick.

Don't airplanes fly in 3D space?

Oof. At best that single joystick could control yaw (twist), pitch and roll but not necessarily have any x,z,y translation control on the Enterprise. The lack of access to any other controls is just a bizarre design decision. It'd make more sense if it popped up on one of the helm control stations.

If playing the more modern space flight sims (Elite: Dangerous) has taught me anything, it’s that translation control is necessary for efficient maneuverability and maintaining an upper edge in space combat. It’s hard to go back to flight sims that don’t have it.
So yeah. Single joystick on the E was dumb. But it was good fun.

I noticed you added that deck compartment that Spock opens up when the Enterprise is under attack by Chang's cloaked Bird of Prey, when Kirk wants auxiliary power but Spock reports that the auxiliary circuits have been destroyed.

Oh yes. I’ll be filling them (there are two) with some odds and ends soon.
