from Titan so is more of a 'bookazine' Titan Comics Celebrates 35 Years of THE GENESIS TRILOGY with Archival STAR TREK Interview Book • TrekCore.com
It's the epilogue to the affair, where the crew deals with the political and legal fallout from the Genesis incident. No, it's not directly about Genesis, but the trilogy as a whole is set in motion by Genesis, so it's as good a blanket title as any.
I think there are better names out there. Like @F. King Daniel I also thought they were talking about the novels.
Like what? The Spock Dies and Gets Better Trilogy? The Khan-Kruge-Probe Trilogy? Genesis is the one thread that links all three movies, just differently in each one. The CGI Genesis simulation footage is even used in all three movies.
It's sometimes called, like in IDW's omnibus and in at least one DVD set, "Motion Picture Trilogy," which always seemed pretty vague and open to confusion, especially now that there are three Kelvin timeline films.

"Spock" is way too generic a title for anything in Trek. But those three movies are the only things that feature Genesis as a story point, and all three of them do to some degree, so "Genesis Trilogy" is easily the most natural and straightforward title. I really don't understand the objection.
