    Got it, thanks.

Also, there’s really no need to be rude. ‘Meaningless laundry list’. I just asked you a question because I wasn’t sure what you meant.

Sorry, I didn't meant to be rude. It was "meaningless" in that you were just filling the list with examples of things with which people could take issue. I wasn't suggesting your point was meaningless (just that the items you listed were simply random examples).

Alright, accepted. All good and no bother. Thanks for the apology. That almost never happens on the internet.

Which era do I want to see, coming up? I'm liking circa 2400 and 3190. I'm done with the rest.

EDIT: "I'm done with the rest" doesn't sound quite right. It could be misconstrued as harsher than what I intended. More like "I've moved on from the rest." Although I'm not against it, I'm not really looking out for new stories set in the 23rd or 24th Century either. I want the turn-of-the-25th and 32nd.

I love the mindset behind ‘Patrick Stewart is bald right? I guess that means he was bald all of his life!’

Crazy stuff. What a crap movie.

Because shaving one's head was banned on Earth after the Romulan Wars, so we know it could never be that.

Picard's head, wasn't shaved, it was waxed. That's why very little of it grew back.

The most gigantic missed opportunity in Nemesis was not having Patrick Stewart play Shinzon. If you're going to have a clone, have a clone. I think Patrick Stewart could've pulled off "Evil Picard".

I can hear someone say, "That would've sucked!" Compared to the actual film we got? I don't think so. Nemesis still wouldn't have been the best Star Trek movie, but it would've been more memorable.

Plus they could've used "Evil Picard" to make the real Picard more of a contrast, so they would've made Picard truer to himself than he was in the actual Nemesis film. Anyone who can tell me with a straight face that PIC Picard isn't Picard but NEM Picard somehow is, has let the passage of time give them a rosier view of what it was.

I re-watched all of TNG right before Picard. The version in PIC is much truer to the character than the version in NEM.

I am a bit late to the game in answering this question, but I put modern era because we are getting such an interesting variety of new shows from Paramount+. However, I do see this question as a bit of a false dichotomy. I would assert TOS films had a very different feel compared to the original series and were primarily created without GR after the Motion Picture. Although TNG may have started with a "Phase 2" vibe in seasons one and two, it quickly changed into something quite different from TOS under Rick Berman. DS9 is quite different from anything preceding it and was primarily helmed by Ira Steven Behr. Only Voyager and Enterprise feel similar to the TNG sensibilities (and I can't help but feel that was due to pressure from the studio as they were building UPN and wanted a TNG remake.) While the Kelvin universe movies, Disco, Picard, and Lower Decks may have a more modern feel overall, each of these series/films still feels very distinct.

I know I know... but you know the reason it probably happened is some clueless exec thought the audience would be 'confused' if young Picard had hair...

Does Picard strike anyone as the sort of person to Bic his head as a youth? :D Who knows? Maybe?

Edit - Thinking on it, he used to start fights in bars didn't he? Maybe he was a bit of a nutter.

I picked the original time frame because i have not had any interest in anything produced Trek wise of late, the JJ movies were a shiny distraction at the time and that was fine, but as for everything else they have been a meh for me, but Strange New Worlds with Pike and crew may just be for me.

I enjoyed Nemesis a lot. I never considered using Patrick Stewart for both characters though. That would have been really interesting.

Here’s an idea: Star Trek: Cochrane

Tell the story of Zephram Cochrane and the development of warp drive. This could be a miniseries or one season, from his university days right up to first flight, set against the backdrop of earth recovering from WW3.

I kind of feel like First Contact messed his character up and cast him poorly. I wouldn't really have a great deal of interest in continuing that canon. Plus, even more opportunity to screw up continuity in yet another prequel series.

I think it's time to stop delving into the past (Pre 24th century) and start moving towards the future.

Nemesis Picard is 100% Picard. Facing his mortality, his relationship with Data, dealing with his crew moving on. I mean, sure, there's the Argo stuff at the beginning, but that's not even a tenth of the film.
