I got the blurays of this and HOLY SHIT I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It's like what I loved about Legion but cranked up to 11. Love the dysfunctional found family of characters and the batshit crazy stuff they get up to. And everyone has major mental health issues and coal-dark pasts.

I'd be very interested to read what someone with DPD would think of Jane/Kay/etc.

Yeah, Doom Patrol is awesome. Once I'm done with Titans Season 2, I'm on episode 5 of 13, I'm probably going to start working on DP Season 2.

I liked season 2 but I didn't find it as compelling as the first season. I'm hoping season three feels less setbound.

I seem to remember reading a comic in the 70s where they were killed off…

They were killed off in the 60's. Stayed mostly dead until the late 80s.

I felt that at first, Mr Nobody's meta-commentary was fantastic and I really, really missed it in season two. But I found myself drawn into the stories regardless. I was just annoyed that S2 ended on a cliffhanger...

They had to end an episode early due to COVID. It made for a really agonizing cliffhanger, especially since we didn't yet know if the show would be renewed!

Seeing The Brain and Monsieur Mallah in live action is pretty cool. I enjoyed season 1 a lot, but loathed the chief's shitty daughter so much I dropped season 2 with episode 1 or 2 (I can't remember which). I'll probably at least give a watch to the episode(s?) with Brain and Mallah in this season, just because its cool to see them used in live action.

I love that Michelle Gomez has a "TARDIS".

Anyone watching the new episodes? Feels a little bit unfocused at the moment if you ask me. The show is so crazy most of the time that it helps when the arc is clear. So far it’s not as compelling as the previous ones.

Unfortunately the show had to hamfistedly close out the Dorothy/Candlemaker storyline before plotting course correction for the new season. Apparently Dalton wasn’t available due to the pandemic and his presence is missed (well, it’s there but...).

I like Michelle Gomez because well I like Michelle Gomez. Hard not imagining her as Doctor Who and what her run would be like.

So it has moments but I’m waiting for it to hopefully shift into the next gear.

We've only watched the first episode of season 3 so far. Since it dealt with death and grief, it was a bit rough on me. The song "Time"... well, that was just...:wah:

Seeing everyone dealing with their (understandably) mixed and contradictory emotions about Niles was lovely and necessary. The cast continues to impress me, especially April Bowlby (Rita). What happened during the play run-through and after was terrific.

Dorothy! I loved her solution to the conflict with the Candlemaker. Watching her dealing with her father's death was also very well done. It's good to be reminded that she didn't see him that often, but she's also a *very* old "kid", so her feelings for and about him are complicated too.

I was a bit confused about not-Miranda and hope we see more on that later. Or maybe I need to watch it again in a better headspace. But I was happy to see Kay

Cliff continues to be way too much fun *and* he had some nice character growth. The Ghost joke made me laugh loudly!

Larry is off on a solo adventure! I hope we still see him and Bomer isn't leaving the show.

I'm looking forward to Vic and the mystery of the folks who messed Roni up. It looks like Vic will have to rethink some of his assumptions. His talk with his dad was great. Phil Morris never disappoints. :techman:

I didn't expect to see Michelle Gomez in the first episode! Awesome, as always. I feel dumb - I was looking up some of the actors names and accidentally saw who she's playing. This should be interesting...

Then credits rolled and I said, "Mark Sheppard's in the credits - where was he?" Silly me. :p

I understand this was actually supposed to be the last episode of last season, and that makes a lot of sense, but it did a good job of making me want to see what weird shit will happen this year.
