They do seem to be at extreme unease with nudity, especially when trying to play it cool when Worf freaks out on that subject. And by "they" I mean the TNG human heroes, the issue not emerging much in other contexts; many or even most other UFP cultures might be different, and we know at least the Betazoids are.

Still doesn't mean unisex showers would be a source of unease. It's the military roughing it out, after all, much like our LDS characters rough it out by sleeping together (even if in separate bunks). There's very little privacy, and probably a lot of private parts in evidence. Including, say that Towel Guy.

Well, in "Haven," Troi had a fit at the idea of a nude wedding, and everyone else was pretty "Uhh..." about it except Data and Riker. (Riker of course would be naked on the bridge if he could get away with it.)

    Corn-ey Rank Pins ...

    I gave it a 9.

Nudity in a Community Shower Area ... No problem.
Walking around the ship in the buff ... Probably not part of the Star Fleet Standard Uniform Code and very much frowned upon.

Just like on USN Ships of today.

Much better than last week. Not really that much funnier, but a smarter episode that used references to other series in a deeper manner and was more critical of Mariner's character.

Only major negative is Tendi and Rutherford were criminally underused here.

I have always had the impression that they are not exactly against nudity, but if they have a choice they would rather avoid it. I don't know, a bit like the peoples of Northern Europe?

Heh ... I believe that turned out to be the main point of the entire Collector Ship plot.

Well I wouldn't want them to drag it out over the entire season. Boimler has to be part of the cast.

Mariner: "So, was the Titan as awesome as everybody says?"

Boimler: "Eh, it was a bunch of complex characters thrown into heavily serialized battles which always ended in mind-blowing twists and made me question the basic tenets of my reality. But who cares about that?!?"

    Damn. Gauntlet thrown.

I guess Boimler doesn't have the energy for being on DISCO or Picard.

I also noticed the U.S.S. Titan transporter platform has those dividers between the panels of the resonator array that the Kelvin Timeline and some DSC Era transporter platforms have.

Overall, I'd call this a pretty great episode, but when Boimler showed up and they basically gave Jet the cold shoulder, I found that kind of cold and unnecessary.

I think it's good for setting up Jet for future episodes, though.

Personally, I think Jet has a secret crush on Mariner and was disappointed that Boimler came back into the fold.

Now Jet will have a harder time getting closer to Mariner.

Biggest laugh for me this week was the giant Spock skeleton. Even better that nobody ruined it by pointing it out. The writers just let it be a strange, gruesome, sight gag.

I also liked that the Titan's observation lounge was designed to look like a redress of the Nemesis Ent-E lounge, exactly the way you know it would have been if the Titan had shown up in live-action.

Turning him into a doll for most of the episode seemed designed to get around having to write metaphor dialog...and then they didn't have him speaking in metaphor most of the time anyway. I wish they had; a running gag of 'how did this guy make it this far in Starfleet' would have been much funnier than what we got -- you know, nobody can understand him but everyone is too polite to say anything which causes a breakdown in communication that gets everyone in trouble until the third-act reveal that he's an absolute badass on the battlefield as he saves the day, or something like that.

But then, we would have missed out in him in sickbay with the sign:

    So. Many. Easter Eggs.

I enjoyed this one because the story was about rushing into danger unnecessarily for the sheer desire of being a "bad ass". I love it when the A and B plots mirror each other. 50 foot Spock bones were just the icing on the cake!

Better than last week. Nothing amazing. Needs more Titan. I hope we get more Titan episodes or even a full one.
I was disappointed Kayshon only occasionally uses metaphors. I think it would be funnier if he spoke that way all the time.

I kept wondering what does that reference?

Speaking of Data, "The Most Toys" (which I need to rewatch now to learn more about the Collector's Guild) reveals that Data won't wander around naked, even as a captive prisoner, because of a morality subroutine. Implying that nudity would be considered immoral by Soong at least, or perhaps as a Starfleet officer or something.

The giant Spock clone in "The Infinite Vulcan(TAS)," which is now canon along with the rest of TAS.
