I've only finished the first story, but there are certain elements with the performance (and few lines) that hint at more of a resigned acceptance of necessary evils and a bit less attachment to peaceful solutions. Nothing wholly out of character, one but who does feel quicker to pick up a weapon than those before and after him.
Was the concept of the “could-have been” and never weres explored? I could see an alternate timeline Davros pre-injury turning his hate on Daleks as the latter…and an Emperor Morbius as the former they were both abducted by the War Doctor…weaponized by him. First to keep his hands from being dirty…like Will Graham from Manhunter needing a mindset. As the two die.. or worse…erased…they find out the truth, and call out the War Doctor as being a bigger monster than they ever could be…for he made the choices here.
I actually wanted to do a new post on this but I think I might be the only one who is really hyped about it. The Spider Daleks are finally showing up. https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/...octor-begins-he-who-fights-with-monsters-2366 I haven't listened to the War Doctor begins audios but I've heard positive things.
Honestly, I'm surprised they hadn't shown up sooner. Big Finish (and the comics) were the most likely places for them to pop up.
I've still not listened to this series yet. I will... I will! It seems that it's drawing to a close, but an exciting one. The 8th Doctor meets the War Doctor! https://www.bigfinish.com/news/v/the-war-doctor-begins-ends
