The petulant child in me was upset all morning that a new Picard trailer didn't drop on Picard Day. The reserved adult in me, this afternoon, is very much looking forward to the second season. I'm super curious as to how the season plays out. It seems to be an adventure through the alternate present like Yesterday's Enterprise by way of Tapestry, but is the whole season about that? The very cool present day highway promo image says to me that there are further time travel shenanigans, along with the imagery from the first trailer. Maybe this is Picard taking part in the temporal war, part of "the past" in Discovery, bringing the shows closer together narratively? And Q is actually there to oversee Picard's part in the war because he's annoying, rather than be the cause.
I got a very (tho updated) Trelane vibe from Q's outfit. I'm definitely looking forward to what comes next!
Oh, please, no temporal war stuff. Just Q sending Picard and his friends through time to experience "the road not taken"... which is a very obvious reference to the Robert Frost poem by the same name (note the final stanza): Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
I don't think so. It looks like both she and Rios are well aware that they're not in Kansas anymore. Surely just something to do with Q.
Good Teaser. John DeLancie is looking great these days. I'm currently watching Breaking Bad, and I was shocked that Delancie was in a few episodes in that series for season 2. Looking forward to seeing him in Picard as Q again. This also sounded like Tapestry and All Good Things... Q so that actually gives me some hope that they will do the character right.
Would a Picard-Disco movie be worth while?? Or possible.. To go beyond to when time travel became banned and visit... That future??
John De Lancie looks great, he's aged so well. Thank the Universe Koala they didn't try to de-age him. Dignified chaos god. Time travel to modern day because reasons has been done a million times and we all know Q will save the day after also being the cause of all their problems, but I'm sure it'll be entertaining. And I'm still thinking they're loosely adapting DC Comics' "The Gift"
So in All Good Things, 2395 Picard told everyone that Q was back and no one believed him in that timeframe. It's now 2400 and Q is back, will anyone believe Picard now? Picard: It's true, Q is back! Rios: Are you sure you're transitioning to your new synth body ok?
To think that John de Lancie guest appeared on The Six Million Dollar Man when I was a kid puts things into perspective! Yeah! He looks great!
Ok it looks like some multiverse tapestry esq season what if it is showing Picard how good the federation could be, how progressive and unified the galaxy could be if a certain event happend differently, Picard and co are trapped in this new universe that they realise is better than there’s that if it could see the prime universe would look down their noses we’re often obsessed with myriad universes that our worse than our own what if we are confronted with one better
The black costume and the symbol Seven finds are similar to what we saw in the spypics a while ago, and the poster suggests that they really are in LA, slightly in the future (there was an ad for a trip to Europa, the moon, on the bus).
yes, the grass always seems greener over there in that timeline --- why can't we live in that timeline for while just to enjoy the fun.. @Fenric I like how you used the word Myriad correctly and sneaking in a myriad of universes that is the wrong way to use Myriad --- this came up in a conversation about that word just yesterday-- there were other grammar errors but yeah not as bad as I have been with grammar..
What is with the horrible outfit Q is wearing? Is it the same as Picard's? Doesn't look like it. If not, why not? Why is he wearing that? Ugh.
