I need all these upcoming ships to go up on the shop preorder page so I can save on shipping, dammit.

Edit: whoa, the US store has STO binders!

Finally! I've heard the binder description is wrong, so how many mags it can really hold is up in the air.

Hoping one day we'll get BSG series binders. Seems like all the lines have them now except that one for some odd reason.

Probably one of my favorite sto designs

Not exactly eaglemoss related, but Mixed Dimensions is doing a 15% sale right now for 3d printed STO ships, for anyone interested.

    Thanks!
Btw, in the Shipyard screen, the nacelles remain attached to the refit Crossfield. WIth no other detached parts, it means the model is theoretically printable (with shuttlebay closed).

Also, with the hype around the Discovery-A, of which Ben is hoping to bring an XL version out before the end of the year, I wonder if there's a chance the Glenn-class might be featured in the STO ships collection? It's a 25th century refit of the Crossfield and it looks nifty. STOwiki image link: https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/File:Legendary_Crossfield.png

Because I'd rather have a metal/plastic Glenn-class from Eaglemoss than forcing those spindly nacelles through a 3D print. :bolian:

There's always been that one elusive model still out there that you want to get, and then when you finally get it, there's another...

Lately, for me, it's been the Karemma ship, which has been terribly hard to get for a year or more. It was never in stock on the website (which has been down for Canadians for weeks now, anyway). I've heard some strange stories of problems with the stock for this one, but I don't know if they're true.

While browsing eBay last night (when I should've been paying attention during a zoom meeting), I found one and impulsively bought it from a seller in the UK. It was a bit more than I would've liked to spend (with shipping, about $67 Canadian) and the system was estimating over a month for it to arrive, but I've spent more and waited longer. I'm just glad it's finally on its way.

    Is this the Defiant prototype?

Looks like it. One of them, anyway. There were several, including the Valiant and the Pathfinder (the latter becoming the Nova-class Equinox & Rhode Island starships used in Voyager).

The Valiant-class was realized as a design in STO: https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/File:Tactical_Escort_T6_Valiant.jpg
This one is larger than the concept art model, to match the size of the Defiant.

According to Bernd Schneider's Ex Astris, Scientia page, a four-nacelled prototype of the Defiant pathfinder was put into service. I'd love to see a four-nacelled Nova-class variant!

I'm fairly I've read that the "Pathfinder" design was created for the DS9 Technical Manual as an in-universe Defiant prototype; it wasn't ever a real-world contender for the design.

Really? Huh... Hadn't heard that one. Certainly possible. I'll have to do some digging.

Update: Sure enough! From the article "Designing the USS Equinox NCC-72381 - By Rick Sternbach":
So Sternbach did design this ship after the final design of the Defiant was complete. Learn something new every day! :)

I remember being so stoked when I saw the Equinox and immediately clocking it was the Defiant pathfinder! Rick Sternbach was, and remains, the man.

Oppositely, I was disappointed the "Nova Class" Equinox was not the Nova Class from the TNG manual

But which one? It's pretty close to the one with the triangular hull after all.

Yeah I know, top left with the triangular saucer is pretty close to the actual Nova, considering it was created nearly a decade earlier.

That top-left Nova concept appeared as the USS Aquitaine in a TNG comic. (And the bottom-left one looks very much like it could have inspired the USS Veracruz designed by Mark Kingsnorth)
