Lol, if I replied when the poll was posted I would be in a youngish category, now I am in the middle aged category. Thanks for rubbing that in.

I grew up on reruns on TOS and TNG started when I was 11 and ended in my senior year in High School. DS9 gave me something to be a fanboy about in College, but after that VOY and ENT were meh. Disco is fun. It's a little stupid with the fantasy tech but that has always been part of Trek. I do think transporters are absurd and the idea basically disrespects the complexity and beauty of condensed matter and atomic physics. Picard is great too and I am looking forward to SNW.

    The poll says otherwise.

The poll is not my only experience. Anecdotal, certainly, but that's what I go with.

Well my anecdotal experience is the opposite.

I'm just not seeing a whole lot of new young ST fans these days.

My young niece and nephew got into Star Trek from watching TNG re-runs that are always playing at grandpa's house. Neither of them like Discovery or Picard.

I'm 49 and quite pleasantly disposed toward it. Probably seven or eight out of ten, so I chose the "I love it" bracket for my age group. But I guess we'll see how it gets along without Saru or Philippa.

Which is why the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

At 75, I'm at the extreme end of TREKBBS membership and the Lady Sho-Rin and I both love Disco and Picard. We even moderately enjoyed Lower Decks although no re-watch is in order and I'm extremely eager for Strange New Worlds.
