One of my favorite episodes as a kid! I watched it with the boy, and he was less impressed than I am with this one...

Just watched "The Cage" for probably the third time. Want to try a rewatch in production order this time.

The interesting thing for me besides the dated scenes with Number one, is the fact that Spock has so little to actually do in the episode. it could just be any random character in his role and it would make no difference. I actually really enjoy Jeffery Hunter as Captain Pike and he has a good scene with Dr. Boyce early on but its striking at how much the show relied on him and him alone to work.

Turnabout Intruder (TOS Blu-ray). This is the episode featured for May 2021 on my TOS wall calendar.

Watching TOS season 1 in production order is a great experience. There's a surprising amount of continuity with the characters, you can really see the relationships developing (Kirk and Spock going from colleagues to basically brothers and the feud developing between Spock and Bones) as the season goes along.
