Check out the latest Special Episode from RPG Pop Club! We cap off our first season with a lovely interview with Michael Scott, author and designer of the RPG ruleset we use: Star Trek: Adventure Gaming in the Final Frontier (1978, Heritage Games). “Scotty” gave us a unique look into early Star Trek fan culture and the early RPG hobby, including personal anecdotes about Franz Joseph, Dave Arneson, Larry Niven, James Doohan, Lou Zocchi, Robert A. Heinlein, and Poul Anderson! https://www.rpgpopclub.com/podcast.html

We played and reviewed two more Klingon modules. One is the best and awesomest Star Trek module we’ve played, and one is the worst (but you know we made it fun) — but I won’t say which is which. Enjoy! https://www.rpgpopclub.com/podcast.html

In Episode 15, we kick off our Trader Captains and Merchant Princes side-campaign with the module, “Margin of Profit.” How did we enjoy the seedy side of the galaxy? Find out at: https://www.rpgpopclub.com/podcast.html

In Episode 16, we play “Orion Ruse.” This was a great one! Starfleet PCs and Free Trader PCs come together on an opulent Orion planet to battle pirates and make get rich! https://www.rpgpopclub.com/podcast.html

In Episode 17, “Hazards of Space 2,” the gang returned to the Lucanii Drift to test fly their sweet new Saladin-class destroyer. More fun sandbox-style adventure—we can’t get enough! https://rpgpopclub.castos.com/

Oh sweet! I was listening to you guys but then couldn't find you again and thought you guys had quit. I'll have to catch up. I have an idea for a module for you guys to play if you're interested...

Cool! Yeah, we have been in a bit of a hiatus, but we are still around with more episodes in the hopper.

What did you have in mind, Alex?

Well, I'm a big fan of the old FASA materials. I had an idea for a Star Trek adventure. I have been wanting to publish some adventures on DriveThruRPG and thought it might be cool to try to write something and give to you guys to see if I have any skill at presentation. So I'd need some time to finish it since I dropped it, having thought that you had disbanded or whatever... But if you guys have any interest in running an adventure made by an old fan, with maps and illustrations, I'll get back to it.

My idea was to make something that would fit in with the larger body of FASA's work. The story involves the crew discovering the old radio signal of an old Starfleet ship and go off to investigate what happened to it. Unfortunately, it's been so long since I actually played FASA, I would present it in a system neutral way, though it seems like the rules you are using aren't really FASA anyhow? So, I don't think that would present a problem.

Back when I was originally working on this, I drew the old Earth ship. You can find it in this thread:

Sounds awesome! Yeah, bring it on. System neutral is perfect.
